  1. ....And there is it the classical HP over Greenland that spreads northwards up to the arctic, another completely useless spring month coming?
  2. Derecho Nice straw-man argument i have never even mentioned that the global average temperature hasn't increased i have always talked about single months and season, single months and seasons can and will still cool in places despite a general increase in global average temperatures.
  3. Derecho Then you obviously can't read the graphs it's trending downwards and the peaks have already occurred, the black line should go slowly upwards not stabilize or go down.
  4. Derecho Still the 10-year average is going down which is quite telling and it's not only april also may had a peak just a decade ago, july must be the most shocking one with no trend at all since the early 00's which anyone can see on this graph atmospheric circulation has already changed for Sweden only winds from the north and east last couple of years, the rest of the world may continue to warm but not this part of the world.
  5. damianslaw I know but it's more sad that April isn't as warm anymore like it used to be, i don't see anything that will take us back to the 00's aprils.
  6. If you're feeling that April the most important spring month has gotten colder lately it's not a illusion, the peak of warm april's were in the late 00's since then it's gotten slowly colder on average.
  7. Strong scandinavian/northern european cooling to be seen during winter&summer while spring and autumn remains unchanged for the years 2025-2029 because of lingering water vapor in the stratosphere. Long-term climate impact of large stratospheric water vapor perturbations ESSOPENARCHIVE.ORG The amount of water vapor injected into the stratosphere after the eruption of Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai (HTHH) was unprecedented, and it is therefore unclear what it might mean for surface climate. We...
  8. When march and spring is supposed to soon arrive this is what you get, this is why March has been my hate weather month for the last couple of years instead of November
  9. January 2024 ends up in the top 10 list ice extent wise for the baltic sea since 1980, not overly impressive but still
  10. Great overnight GFS run, this is what one has been waiting for all winter, a stable period with not overly cold conditions just perfect between -2 to -6
  11. Well halfway through winter then and time for a short summary: -Snow days (2cm snow or more on the ground): 42/46 days (91%) , average 51% - Coldest temp: -23,2c , average 1991-2020 -20,8c - Days above 5c : 4 days, average 1991-2020 20 days -Average temperature: -5,3, average 1991-2020 -1,2 So far a classic moderate cold winter but still nothing like 2009-2010 where the temperature stayed below 0c for 61 days in a row, it feels more like a colder version of the 2012/2013 winter with more punch in the cold spells.
  12. I dunno about you guys but when it's -17,6 at noon it's getting quite ridiculous
  13. Looks like we are about to enter a pretty long period of temperatures below 0c but close to average period here in scandi. And with that i leave you with a snowy landscape and i wish you all a very merry Christmas, let's try to embrace this holiday season with our loved ones even more this year due to both inflation and the coming recession.
