I wouldn't trust the weather apps at all. Its the dew point to be worried about. Its forecast to push up above 0c later. But the cold easterly could undercut and keep as snow especially high ground
Main rain band cleared and we have had some brightness but further light showers every now and then. Temperature a steady 7C with a keen easterly wind. So colder than yesterday at this point.
Simular setups have indeed delivered to even the coast in these setups. Unfortunately timing of these systems doesn't look great and therefore is occurring during day light hours when its warmer than if they were pushing in during the night.
Sunday does look colder and indeed the chance for coastal sleet/snow is slightly higher
This kind of set up could produce up to a foot of snow across the highest ground of Wales i wouldnt be suprised to see some blizzard conditions persisting on the brecon beacons. For coastal areas esp south wales its looking more like rain and sleet
Charts look bloody awful for the South of the UK! Lots and lots of rain with a huge boundary developing between mild air to the south and cold to the north. Unfortunately southern Wales is looking very marginal for snow unless your on highest ground
Looks like alot of heavy rain will be the main feature for the rest of the week with a chance of snow to higher elevations. Rainfall totals are a worrying concern ,seems to be the theme yet again
