Why is everyone saying it's all over? Do you all know something I don't?
It was 1am when it kicked off here a couple of nights ago. No thunder/lightning is forecast here until 10pm at the earliest.
I'm still hopeful

That storm in Hinckley (Burbage) really impacted my folks. They had to have lots of roof tiles replaced, the car was swiftly put into the garage so wasn't badly damaged.
My mum is petrified about next week, she hates storms now
-
What's with false strikes then? Why does that happen?

I suspect he's on a mobile device. lol
In which case, if you turn your phones from portrait to landscape mode, it will give people's locations, as well as other info.
Yeah, sorry, I hid my post.

This is the stuff of dreams, the South coast sure is the place to be for night time storms in the UK, very jealous i wont lie! but happy for you guys who have got the first proper storms of 2019!!
I'm chuffed for the SEasteners too, been lurking in here since about 4pm.
Still annoyed that my O/H is down there tonight, he'll just be annoyed by it keeping him awake

Hello snow watch peeps *waves*
I reckon the snow will fall on MKsnowangel but won't get as far as me.
-
I had to go out today because I couldn't bear seeing that the SE lot were having storms on the forum .
It was worse if you actually live in the South East and got nada <_<
-

got some towering clouds with whispy tops around the area now which have formed within the last hour or so. In particular the one over Milton Keynes which is coming this way.
Surely a towering cumulonimbus with an off direction whispy top is a thunder cloud. but theres no thunder in it!
We have just had an intense rain shower here, just a short one, earlier it was torrential.

Snow here too for last half hour, melting on impact !
1.7 C falling , 0.5 DewPoint falling, 993.2 rising.
Radar looks interesting for a few hours yet.
Edit.. now settling on grass
Where's here?
Snowing in Milton Keynes.
Folk in the office are getting itchy about leaving early
-
I wasn't even expecting this, it was raining when I went to bed last night!!! I think it is stopping here now too.
It would be nice to have some sunshine to finish the day off, I hope my snowdrops are OK.
They'll be fine
-
Well here anyway
-
icey rain, snow in Milton Keynes, settling on the grass
-
I don't think we'll get much at all, and I'm a bit closer than a lot on here to the SE corner.
It'll be Kent that gets it.
-
..........i'm predicting that Luton will get 5-10cm's overnight.
I'd be surprised.
I'm not expecting much at all.
-
hahha I was just going to say "And we're NE of Northampton hehhe" Wish I was in MK today! lol
Sun's out now, it's just sharp showers here.
It's all melted.
-
Looks like what we had at 11.30 NS!!! Enjoy heheh
Nah, it's heading south west
ETA: I don't know why, I was thinking you were in MK.
Sorry!

It seems to be heavy graupel that turns into snow before dieing out. It is lashing it down here at the moment, with some gusts chucked in for good measure.
I just went out to get my lunch, when i got back here i said to my colleague that it was grauple, that last shower started as snow, but most of it was grauple.
By far the heaviest snow shower of the spell so far underway here. Visibility is seriously reduced and snow is settling on all surfaces.
That one looks quite beefy on the radar
