Why don't you leave this thread if you can't stand people being unhappy about the forecast being slightly wrong?
it's the whineing I can't cope with.
"They said this, this didn't happen WAH WAH WAH!"
"They don't know what they're doing"
etc etc ad infinitum...........
-
In that I am aware of the current setup but trying to understand why your suggesting people should not comment on the forecasts. Please enlighten us as to why they are getting "stuff" wrong at the moment. Will be interested to read your thoughts.
FYI I said please stop wingeing, I didn't say folk couldn't comment or post about forecasts, that would be silly.
There is a difference

"Oh no I'm not getting any snow I'm going to rage about it on the Internet!"
And I'm going to find someone to blame dagnammit!
-
It is a cold spell discussion of which the forecasts whether we like it or not are obviously going to get mentioned be them accurate or incorrect. Why bother coming on to the site on a Sunday morning to just tell people to stop posting.
Takes away the point of having a forum and a discussion thread doesn't it.
Try to understand why forcasters are getting stuff wrong at the moment, just give it a go eh?

Out if interest who is whining?
Have you read the last few pages?
I think we need to move into the Met office and get rid of the shower that are there!!You have to ask why they could get this so wrong at such a short time scale.afternoon people, just got this fom met office HEAVY SNOW FOR EASTERN ENGLAND VALID FROM 11.25AM TODAY TILL 11.59 PM. (:whistling:WHERE IS IT) -
PLEASE can people stop whineing about incorrect forecasting, it's been said time and time again that these conditions at the moment are incredibly difficult to forecast
-
i think you'll find they have cancelled it if you look again.
That's what I thought
THE EARLY WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELLED. DISRUPTIVE SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE NOW LESS LIKELY. -

Can you link to that please

You have to ask why they could get this so wrong at such a short time scale.
Been asked and answered about a million times on this forum this weekend. Getting boring now.

Why is it silly? I'm just saying exactly what's happened here, in this part of Herts, this winter. With the amount of hype going on in the media at the moment because of a bit of snow you'd have thought we've been in some sort of Siberian deep freeze for the last 4 weeks!
It's only because of the wash out winters we've had in recent years that people get surprised when we get a bit of snow and tend to overreact. I'm just being realistic and saying that around here it hasn't been severe at all. Current temp 2.1C and rising fast!
It's silly because you said "So much for this so called severe winter"
Winter isn't over by the 10th of January

Bluearmy, no disrespect, but have you seen the HUGE area of ppn moving over the North Sea, Holland, Germany - looking at the British Isles radar will not show you the huge extent of it. All heading this way...
Have you noticed it's breaking down as it heads over the North Sea?
-
Will be plenty of snow up in the peak district hills and many hundreds and me will be enjoying it rather than beating themselves up in front of a computer screen.
Get out and enjoy what you've got

Can't say i can see any snow falling in the centre of MK Lizzieloo202, just overcast, dry and extremely cold in the strengthening wind.
it is, honestly. Very strong light outside, snow is definitely falling here.
-
Well looking at the second site posted showing stats in canbridgeshire, too me it appears theres a dry inversion forming, hence the extremely low DP and big drop in humidity. Imho this doesn't bode well for snowfall, if theres no moisture in the atmosphere then notalot if any precipitation is going to fall
Still snowing here, bit more than dandruff now too.
Not much more mind.
-
Unless my own weather station is malfunctioning it seems a little odd to me, my temp is lower and dp higher, also im recording relative humidity of 82% not 70% being reported on that website :/
Could it be due to the urban/rural location?
(I have no idea if that would make any difference)
-
Do you think that's wrong SnowJoke?
-
Im recording a temp of -0.9'c and a dp of -2.3'c here in the center of MK. Odd why some folks are reporting such low dew points. Are these your own observations or are you all looking at the same website which may be reporting these incorrectly?
-
Still have 'dandruff' falling here
-
Snowing lightly here in MK, -1.2c, dandruff though.
Hmmmm
Same here, light snow.
Temp up to 0.5 DP -4.2

Hello Midlands peeps
Will it all break up over the North Sea? All PPN seems to be disappearing before it even reaches the coast.
Any ideas?

To make a change from the bickering on here, I have a question, What is the reason behind the mild temps (compared to those forecast)? Is it just cloud cover or something front wise travelling in from the east?
What's your temp down there?
-
My kids are losing the will to live.....
No snow AGAIN in the least snow covered county in the UK called Northamptonshire
We missed all today's showers from an Wash set up.
Take them to MK tomorrow for sledging, still loads of snow lying from monday night, powder, hasn't thawed at all
-
Temp here now above freezing. 0.1
