I know a lot of you are first-timers or may not post often on here, but could those that haven't please put their locations in their avators on the left hand side.
It is very wearying reading through lots of "We're going to do well here…" posts when no-one else has a clue where 'here' is, no good mentioning your location in a post 2 threads back — rant over.
ETA: oops! ^^^

The way I look at it what ever falls tonight, tomorrow and Thursday is bonus snow, because Friday and Saturday looks like its south east's great snow event! I hope so....
Your avatar makes it really difficult to look at some of these threads at work <_<

I've never seen anything like this, after hours of icy rain (all afternoon and evening) in the last hour or so it has turned to heavy snow, and it's sticking even though everywhere is so wet, everything is turning white !
I will try to get a photo in a minute and add this, also going to have a look at the camera's on the M1 to see what it's like on the roads.
You beat me to it!
Can't believe it's settling!

Freezing fog here, add an outside light
Sky glitter

Quickest freeze day so far this year here in Bucks, windscreen was frozen at 3pm fast , which it has not done since Saturday.
-2C currently. down to around -5C overnight I think. With more snow to come weds/thurs easily.
All the snow that fell last night is still in the trees now, been all winter wonderlandy (?) all day, no sign of a thaw here at all.
Just heard on the news that Thames Valley Police have been moving abandoned cars, therefore people will have to pay to get them back.
Oh dear, that's gonna go down well

Really coming down for the last few hours now. After a few cm of slippy slush on the roads/pavements they are all now turning white. This is looking like it could be the best snowfall we've seen in this area so far!!!
You could do with putting your location on your profile, I read that and thought 'where?'

Hello,
Has anyone got an idea what I might get in MK ?
I'm getting conflicting forecasts depending on who's you look at. At the moment there is quite heavy cloud cover, it has increased all morning as we started with blue sky and sunshine. No sure about temps etc but it still feels pretty chilly to me and the snow/ice we already have hasn't melted much.
Sorry I'm not very good on the technical stuff but very interested and hope to learn more on here !
Hello fellow MKer

It's about time!
Nothing really came of it in the city centre, still pretty dark mind.

Southport home destroyed by lightning
The people in the house were OK but the house definately wasn't

Faint thunder in the distance, hopefully these cells heading my way will pack a few punches
Im all up for that perfect nightime lightning display, if it's good enough, i'll send a link to a live feed from my webcam
The live link you posted earlier didn't work. Well it didn't here at least.
ETA just saw lightning and heard thunder in MK

What direction did the storm move onto, we still haven't had a bean here, everythings skirting around us.
Not north

.........And Thunder in MK!...........
It's a bit pathetic, the storm I'm experiencing, I reckon it's over towards Olney
-
Just heard a rumble in Milton Keynes Lightning now too

Convection here is going nuts, the sky is full of Tcu and Cu-congestus, you can watch them growing before your eyes. Some are amazing look like mushroom clouds from a nuclear explosion, this white towers with billowing colliflower heads on top. Fingers crossed it's gonna go bang soon, keeping my eyes on radar, anything thats normally around oxford makes a b-line towards here
I'm in CMK too, the view from my office is spectacular. The sky is dark to the northwest.

Just had a little storm go through north Milton Keynes, six or seven rumbles, lightning and heavy rain.

I'm a bit of a weather novice. Fascinated by what goes on in the sky above my head but couldn't tell a punchbowl from a sundog.
Care to caption you pics for me and my ilk B)
Thanks
