  1. A change in your luck this year maybe? Not a thing where I work in Washington. Back to Stanley now and heres the sky, maybe the outside chance of a rumble of thunder. BIG - dial-up users avoid.
  2. Yes that's one thing I will miss. I wonder if they have any replacement lined up for that.
  3. After a lovely afternoon thick black cloud is roling in now. Looking at the radar it could be quite a heavy spell of rain. You can see the cloud on the Newcastle webcam: UPDATE: Passed quick and with little rain.
  4. Just received my collins gem weather book. It's a great little book with plenty of good pictures and info. I would recommend it to anyone.
  5. Mostly cloudy, some light blustery showers, feeling chilly in the wind. Temp 9°C Mark.
  6. Just come across a different address for this site www.dontclickhere.co.uk , whats all that about?
  7. I've just bought a book from ebay called 'Pocket Reference Guides - Weather' Seems a very good book. Contents: The Atmosphere Weather Systems Clouds Precipitation Winds Optical & Atmospheric Phenomena Climate Observing and Forecasting I would recommend it to anyone if you can find it. I couldn't find it anywhere apart from ebay. UPDATE: I've also just ordered the Collins book, thanks Essan for the link!
  8. Horid day today. Was out earlier in heavy rain, fog and an icy breeze. Spring certainly not here just yet. Theres even some snow left in the corners of fields and other places from almost 2 weeks ago when it drifted This shows the big difference in temps from north to south:

  10. Their last 14 day outlook went wrong early on Here's their next attempt: Monday 20/03 Mainly dry for much of the UK. Cloudier conditions are likely at times in the extreme south, and in the north east some wintry showers are expected. Temperatures close to average in the south, but cold in the north. Frost developing overnight. Tuesday 21/03 RA cold day in the north with sunny spells and wintry showers. Rather chilly in southern and central areas, although it should be mainly dry with sunny spells. Frost early and late. Wednesday 22/03 Dry for many places, although in the east and north a few wintry showers are likely. A keen easterly wind will make it feel cold in southern and central areas. Some clear spells overnight allowing frost to develop. Thursday 23/03 Mainly dry and bright, but chilly with early frost. Becoming increasingly windy in southern areas, and turning cloudy in the south west with the possibility of some rain later on. Frost developing overnight in northern and eastern areas. Friday 24/03 Possibly milder with some rain in the extreme south. Other areas are likely to be mainly dry, but with increasing amounts of cloud in the south. Feeling raw in a strengthening easterly wind. Weekend 25/03 Cloud and rain clearing away from southern areas. In the north and east showery outbreaks of rain, sleet or snow are likely, with the possibility of some significant snowfall over higher ground in northern areas. Generally cold. Next week 27/03 Milder conditions are expected in southern areas with rain or showers at times. Some significant rainfall is likely. In central and northern areas it may remain rather cold with the chance of some rain, sleet or snow. 11. Snow up here at 190m. Quite hevy with hail and big flakes Settling fast on a frozen surface!
  12. I like their 14 day outlook: Monday 13/03 Another cold day for most of the UK, although perhaps milder in the far south west. Eastern and central areas should be mainly dry and cloudy, while further west there will be a continued risk of some rain, sleet or snow. Widespread frost where the sky clears. Tuesday 14/03 Continuing cold for much of the UK, although again possibly milder in the south west. Cloudy conditions with rain, sleet or snow are expected across much of the UK. Some sleet or snow may push into central southern England for a time, although the far south east may well remain dry. Widespread frost where the sky clears. Wednesday 15/03 Cold again with early outbreaks of mainly light rain, sleet or snow generally easing off in central areas. Further sleet or snow showers are likely in north eastern parts of the UK. Widespread frost where the sky clears. Thursday 16/03 Cold across the UK with a keen easterly wind. A mainly dry start is likely, however, outbreaks of sleet and snow are expected to push westwards across eastern and central parts of the UK. Some significant snowfall is possible, especially over higher ground. Widespread frost where the sky clears. Friday 17/03 Remaining cold. A mainly dry day is expected for much of the UK, however, in the east there is an ongoing risk of wintry showers developing and some of these could turn heavy at times. Widespread frost where the sky clears. Weekend 18/03 Remaining cold with the possibility of further sleet or snow showers in many areas. Widespread frost where the sky clears. Next week 20/03 Temperatures are expected to remain below average for much of the week. There is expected to be an ongoing risk of further sleet or snow at times, especially over higher ground. Could be a cold and snowy couple of weeks ahead! (accroding to TWO)
