Cut off point for full claim would be 18 hrs without power, national regulations
Seems a long time but expectations are 2 hrs max nowadays, it will be getting to the fault not the fixing that'll be the trouble
But it's got to be a very unique type of ice storm to hit the networks
I personnally think it will be too cold and windy for the moisture to stick as it where
-
Working for our local regional network power company, not a good forecast at all
The ice builds on the wires but, a bit like the railways and leaves, it is the wrong type and grows around the conductor and ends up like a ball that weighs down and accentuates any weak spot
-
Drizzle here, horrible in fact
Very much touch and go for snow later, not expecting out till at the earliest 6 pm
-
Crewe cold, as chill pill says put your thoughts in here, they are valued
Regional are better, no edge to the comments and it is our back yard so SE can do one

Latest NEA still got snow for Mcr tonight into Tues, may be marginal at first, elevation will help. Looks like a mild sector into thuirsday as winds vear more Northerly.

White out in hale, pelting down for an hour now, good inch or so
-
Looking like a real dumping from about 6am Friday, as ever radar in the morning, but I guess if it is snowing when you wake up, it will keep snowing till around midnight before it turns to rain, locally snow to sleet to rain, timings down to air masses and elevation as always
-
