My 9 year old daughter and her class are stuck up at High Borrans near you, supposed to be coming home today but the bus couldn't get out of Newcastle. What are the roads like up there? There is talk of them coming back tomorrow but I think that seems unlikely if this continues over night.

Barely anything at the coast here, everything keeps missing us.

Had to leave my car at work and get the metro home. Roads not gritted on North Shields fish quay and Tynemouth roads = one big ice skating rink.

I'm guessing but is this the feature that is likely to bring the heavier snow later?

Does anyone know what the 7 day forecast widget thing on the main site is based on? It shows constant snow Tuesday to Friday for me, which seems unlikely. I understand there's a possibility of quite a bit but why does it show snow in every 3 hour time slot for about 4 days?

I guess some snow will enhance the experience in any case. As long as they aren't snowed in...

My daughter is off to High Borrans near windermere Monday to Wednesday next week. Hopefully it will be clear enough in the west not disrupt their outdoor activities too much. Sending her with thermals though! Will the snow get as far as Cumbria?

The forecasts for most of the country seem to show freezing conditions and some snow. I don't understand how that is likely to to become drizzle. Can you explain please?

Anyone care to tell me what the weather is likely to do around the Haltwhistle / Hadrian's Wall area over the BH weekend?

Just driving rain with occasional sleet for good measure in Whitley Bay / Tynemouth. Met O forecast says more of the same through tomorrow and Wednesday, local BBC suggest possible snow. Is the temperature likely to drop enough for snow right down to the coast?

I'm in Tynemouth view a sea view. The band of snow is sliding past us just offshore down the coast at the minutes. Not a flake here yet. It does look ominous though. Is the wind likely to change to drive it onto land at all? How would I figure this out?

Not seen a single flake of snow along the Tynemouth - Whitley Bay coast so far. Will the snow get here? Which direction is it coming from? The clouds look like they are blowing in from the north east off the sea.

The sun coming out on the Friday of Glastonbury after the rain over Thursday night. I was dreading another mudbath and within hours everything was dry, sun was shining and all was right with the world. What's more, it lasted the rest of the weekend.

That was seriously hard work! Still enjoyed it - not a vintage year, but still Glastonbury. For the first time I would consider going on a Friday if the weather forecast was like that again. There were bright spells in between - you'd end up stripping off your waterproofs and jumpers for sunshine and then it would suddenly start raining again. Anyway, thanks again for the help. The final Glastofestivalforecast is up now too. I like this forecast the most. The weather we get is now irrelevant. :lol:
