  3. Thanks for that kmanmx. Iam Nr Cannock, the sleet and snow is so very close to here on (net weather extra) radar!
  4. Morning. Light snowfall here at present just starting to settle on cars.
  5. Wow! Anyone just seen that meteor / space junk re-enter? Lasted a whole 3-5 seconds sent sky green with red flares off the break up. Amazing !
  6. 'Summer lightning' 40 mins ago, several flashes all with 15 mins or so. Quite a few hefty downpoars too over the past 2 hours, looks like another one is heading on its way.
  7. Working all day nr Shenstone, Lichfield. Pretty much wall to wall sunshine, quite warm too out of the breeze even tho it was only 13c Sky was like this - and still is - now iam home!
  8. Thanks for the GPS request Paul. New stream is even better this season.
  9. Just need that small break in the clouds! Sat 24 showing it - be it slight, but time will tell.
  10. Rare yes, but: I am finding it difficult to find any more data to veryfy the event. Weekend off work so ill be up and ready! Thanks for the heads up.
  11. Mag light + lamp post to confirm snow, with clear sky above! NWRadar seems to have had a beer or two as like aj says been under heavy ppn bit it's clear? Maybe it's picking up the snow being pulled in the wind. Anyway, nice to see snow again and it's settled on a few cars now...
  12. Yes, it's probably picked up on the snow across the mountains of Wales (see today's true colour sat images) Exmoor and Bodmin moor have snow still!
  13. The link below has a experimental snow depth, snow risk & precip type (gfs) covering uk and Ireland, hope that helps you out. http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=snow;sess=
  14. Very brief hailshower, lasted all but 2 mins! Clear sky to the north west now.
  15. warnings back up again: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_forecast_warnings.html
  16. @ Fizz Here is the chart for 6pm tomorrow, hope that helps out a bit!
  17. Looking forward to tomorrow, for one a day off work and second, September storms! GFS view so far 12z: & 18z Strange i didnt hear any thunder thismorning as i was up at 0600 and lighting was recoreded on ADT up until 0800 just north east of home.. dam! Anyway, round 2 tomorrow
  18. Smack bang in the middle of the Bristol Channel streamer! Some moderate bursts of rain every 20 mins or so, much cooler than of late, the last rumbles of thunder was at 20:00 and that was distant!
  19. 19:30. - 20:00 BST. Three distant rumbles of thunder audiable to the west of home location. MW radio static, strike alert @ 10 - 15 mile warning. Internet: ADT strikes and precip 'white' radar at that time, nearest town Bridgnorth / Telford areas.
  20. Nice AJ ! (sorry for the late reply) Did not see the storm with my own eyes due to going out for a meal, it was nice - but not as nice as the storm lol I left webcam running and out of a myriad of stills i did a short list - 1 frame @ 4 second intervals and the gust front was quite impressive on the lapse, if i knew it was going to be a beast i should have recoreded it in hd!
  21. Evening all, Moderate to heavy rain here for the past 10 mins or so, this time lastnight i could see lightning to the south. A few areas are pepping up a bit over the mids due to the north (ish) track running into higher cape. I can still hear the odd bits of static on MW radio - one every 6 seconds or so, but its distant; strike alert has not sounded for the last hour.
  22. Ok, so between 13:00 - 18:00hrs the overall picture looks good!! NW Storm risk starts the ball rolling from 0900 (mids) - storm or no storm, should be a photogenic day at the least
  23. More photos, we get wound up on a 3 in this country, hell knows what they are going through. Link: http://www.sharenator.com/Stunning_Photos_of_Japans_earthquake_and_Tsunami/
  24. Just tryed out a solar filter off the Meade attached to 300mm sigma lens (hand held) & cropped the image. Not really sharp but you can just make out the sunspots.
