Heavy snow atm
I just got what you're getting
-
Light snow falling here atm, but the band from the North seems to be decaying. Hope for some better stuff on Tues/ Weds.

Cheers.... Thinking of heading over this afternoon....
Join The Snake Inn page on Facebook, some new owners are putting some nice pictures on and keeping you updated on road conditions. Some1 even suggested they get a live webcam which would be ace. I know its not exactly the summit of The Snake Pass, but it's always nice to have a nosey

Thanks, at least it's rain.....We have plenty of that normally
The rain shadow effect, from the Welsh Mountains probably.

What causes the rain to skip around Manchester area? I remember a similar scenario when Wales had that red warning for snow about 2 yr ago and the band of snow coming up from the South broke up around Manchester...It was so frustrating. Luckily this time we appear to be missing out on boring old rain

What about
What does it look like for NW Manchester/S Lancashire? Seem to have some of the heavier stuff here atm.
Its looking promising on the radar.....so maybe we are on for the 40cm!

Crikey, Diane Oxbury's snow shaddow was extremly large...I think parts of East Mcr will still see some snow overnight due to the strength of the wind, so im not totally deflated........total blizzard at the moment, best all day
-
Definately a lot more activity here over past hour....flakes not as large as I'd like, but it looks like that dreadful hole around Manchester may be dissapearing
-
That Austerlands or Scouthead or somewhere similar?
Scouthead, im just chipping my fingers off them became necrotic when I took the picture....and yes it has been below freezing all day @ Brass Monkeys....EDF will be sending me another letter abut my gas bill
-
That's the real deal though, temps around freezing giving drifting powder, not the the slop the rest of us get.
If that blob had been plain rain, it would have deluged Oldham & the surrounding areas I'm sure of it! Thats what naffs me off, but yeah, s'pose I can't complain, soz

Lovely and snowy in Saddleworth, just having a heavy hail shower. Picture taken at lunchtime
