good post by Paul.S yesterday explaining the lack of Storms here compared to the 70's and 80's(Spanish bay of Biscay Plume) makes alot of sense..check it out...yesterdays thread all to do with negative and postive troughs from the South/West I shall go away quietly...enough said by me...heading for the garden

Ironically I wonder if its easier to predict Supercells and TS over in the States than this fluctuating Island for Storms due to the sea by Nick's answer I would say yes... Tornados a different ball game I reckon...which Supercell will drop one is a chasers skill and experience

thought that was a real good answer Nick....Unlike across the UK where moisture, temperature and lapse rates, which CAPE is mainly derived, can fluctuate more on an small island surrounded by sea and affected by cloud more off the sea compared with over 100s of square miles of land I was wondering the same a s Crimson... But youve answerd my Thoughts of recent times

In the Staes they do seem consistent leading up to the event or even sometime's increasing on the Chase day.. here the trend does seem to vanish on the day..the reason is beyond me

yes I noticed the South Devon shower on the loop.. will be watching this one on and off to see if this intensifies as It should swing up towards Bristol for later desperate times..storm starved Pat I blame Paul Sherman for the lack of Storms here...They only happen when hes in the States and vanish when he comes home

best choice you make... ....................................................... Just out of curosity if you dont mind Jane.... Cheltenham as had 3 flashes of lightning this year... and 5 lightning bolts last year.. can ANYONE beat this Im being punished for the USA and Euro storm holidays

Ive searched aorund the Net for the answer of the lack of storms compared to the 80's and 70's but cant find the reason.. I have given up!! thankgod for StormChase and Euro storms If this didnt exist I would get a new hobbie

its been so bad here realy we have had two confifers die.. could of done with some heavy rain even if there wasnt any lightning

If I saw that I personally would watch it and track it to see anymore developments and jump in the car if need be...you never know lovely sunny day here today..I take it for us down in the desert South all is over for now

reminds me of a miniture Plainview Supercell in the early stages..I have photo of this and you would see a similarity...colour and the edge of it anyway good photo...thanks for taking my mind back to real storms in the USA
