I've been trying to make an arrangement for eon to come and fit my smartmeters; what a pity their 0808# shuts off a second after it connects. I smell a money-spinning telephone scam!
My daughter had a smart meter installed mid July, with SSE, and it’s still not been updated on her account! She is unable to submit any meter readings and when she tried to phone them she got passed around different departments, on hold for over an hour! They have still not sorted it out. These companies think people have endless time to wait on the other end of the phone. She is thinking she shouldn’t have got the smart meter after all.

Tipping down with rain here. Making up for lost time I think, after such a long period of drought.

Lovely blue skies this morning, but definitely beginning to feel, and smell, like Autumn outside in the mornings now.

Breaking up before it gets to Southern Central. Dammit! We neeed that! And I just tidied the garden and brought the laundry in for it too!
Same here. Was expecting more than a few drops! Is that it for the day? Band has gone over here now and sunshine trying to break through. Temperature 26.2C.

Still 28c in our back garden, but a bit of breeze blowing through our Southerly facing window now. Looking forward to a cooler night tonight I hope.

We have also just been out in the garden looking for shooting stars with no success. Probably need to be out there at 3am or similar to see them. I’m not that dedicated!
Lovely clear skies though, and felt quite nice and cool out there. Come inside and bedroom temperature is 28.6C. Don’t like these hot nights.- 2

The smoke has been confirmed as coming from a moss fire by the coastguard evidently

You can’t win in this country. This time last week it was sooo hot. Would have loved a bit of a cool breeze. Today it’s sunny spells and windy. Feeling too cold now. The weather changes so quickly here. No doubt France and Spain are still in their heatwave.

After feeling nice and cool yesterday evening the temperature now is back up to 27.3C, and feeling much more muggy with my weather station saying 54% humidity.

Temp falling away fast now. Pretty much clouded over. Several hours earlier than expected.
Still sunny at Sandbanks, can’t see much cloud over the Purbecks, but some high cloud building

Temp 29.3C in the back garden now. Slight breeze at times which, although warm, is quite welcome.

Can confirm we are having rain reaching the ground here. Mad rush to get things in from the garden. Wasn't expecting any convection for a few days yet.

Temperature here is almost the same inside /outside at 26.4C/26.5C.
Nice to feel slightly cooler today with a little breeze at times. Must be getting a bit accustomed to the heat now I think.

For once we seemed to be in the firing line for storms last night. Had some torrential rain at times and several spells of thunder and lightning.
Feel sorry for holiday makers who were perhaps camping! At least the garden has had a good watering.

I can see a few showers now on the radar over the English Channel, moving slowly Northeastward. Might be hitting the coast within the hour?

Feeling very cold out today with a biting breeze. Temp 9C currently with broken cloud and sunny spells.

Can't keep up with this thread, it's moving so fast! Winds really picked up here, doesn't seem to go with the accompanying blue skies.
Managed to go out for shopping earlier and on the way back branches and twigs were already on the roads. Probably worse to come, although I am seeing lots of posts on FB saying it's all over and what was the fuss about.

Dorset council have advised all schools to close tomorrow.

I cant believe how windy it is here tonight, I am really dreading Friday . Earlier today my sister got an e-mail from I think it was southern electric warning about storm on Friday be prepared , have candles or torches handy and make sure you have blankets ready to expect power outages also to keep an eye on elderly neighbours. She rang me and said is going to be bad ? All I could say at the time was keep eye on weather forecasts.
I know I will be out in the garden tomorrow trying to seduce what ever I can .
I had to have a little chuckle at your typo in that last sentence. But this morning is sunny, blue skies and calm this morning. Tomorrow will be the exact opposite. Hoping everyone stays safe.

Sunny morning here, now clouded over and fairly breezy. Weather station saying it's 15C outside at the moment!

It seemed that many days in my area were gloomy, with not a lot of sunshine in January.
