  1. Ditto Tim! Bit of a weakling but at least it's something. Not technically a storm but I'll take anything these days!
  2. Well mate it could have been worse.. You could have been in Nottingham yesterday until a couple of hours before their storms, and had to drive back up here - like I had to! Got a text not long after I'd got back here telling me about the fantastic thunder & lightning down there - Gutted!....
  3. Ryanair plane enroute to Stansted has had to make a landing at Belfast Airport http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/8674226.stm Unusual smell onboard etc etc
  4. I posted a few weeks ago regarding my Boss who was due to fly out to Florida the day after the airports initially closed in April. Well he managed to get out there a week later - not very happy but at least holiday wasn't cancelled. He is due to fly back on Sunday.............................................................oh dear!...... Poor sod - the last time he went to Florida a few years back he was delayed a week due to a hurricane
  5. All the Mila/Vodafone ones are now restricted to icelanders only which is understandable as they need the info the most. Closest to 'live' is this one http://www.mulakot.net/myndavelar.html 3rd pic down, just keep refreshing it
  6. Got it back up again. Like you say Joe, plane gone. Looks lie the image went at 18:43 according to the replay. Sure it will re-appear soon
  7. Well it dissapeared and like an eejit i pressed F5 and the page is still loading LOL
  8. http://casper.frontier.nl/eidw/ Mind you, it's taking a while to load. Must be alot of ppl trying to access!
  9. Big plume going up now on the Valahnuk webcam http://eldgos.mila.is/eyjafjallajokull-fra-valahnjuk/
  10. I am absolutely livid about this. Who the hell do KLM think they are? It was only 2 years ago they were in the X-Factor and even then they didn't win. Now they are trying to tell us when it's safe to fly. Reminds me of the time that the Bay City Rollers told everyone 'Betamax is the future' Disgusting I blame Simon Cowell
  11. Totally agree PIT - it's anyones guess For example.. The above quote was made last Monday. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-wires/20100412/eu-iceland-volcano-tourism/
  12. Hopefully it's not the ash that caused it. Generally a light aircraft wouldn't be affected - just has a powerful combustion engine and the ash wouldn't cause any harm. However if it's a turbo-prop type..... well thats a different story, turbo engine therefore same problem as with a jet engine so would be very very bad news indeed.
  13. Icelandic volcanologist being interviwed on channel 4 news reports seismic activity near Katla, and says an eruption is 'very likely'
  14. Possibly some good news Scandinavian Airways are working on a prototype engine filter that may fix all the problems. Picture below
  15. http://www.vodafone.is/eldgos/en Live feed from the Vodafone webcam - as you say, great detail! My gaffer was due to fly out to Florida yesterday - been re-scheduled for next Sunday (as it stands subject to change!!) The poor bugger - last time he went on holiday out there, the flight was delayed a week (outbound journey) because of a hurricane!
  16. Also, this http://hraun.vedur.is/ja/englishweb/myrjokull.html
  17. You lucky lucky lucky buggers! One day I will join you...one day! Good luck for you all, hope you catch the best that Mother Nature has to offer and you return safe, satisfied and full of memories (and photo's/vids) All the best

  22. Tell you something, it had better snow tomorrow. It's my birthday tomorrow so I insist on it
  23. Agreed, good summary there CMD I see the South/North spat has overspilled into the London & SE regional thread now - jeepers
  24. Quite possibly TS However, alot of the snowfall events over Christmas/New Year were not forecasted to be anything like they were so I wouldn't give up completely. There is still a chance, however slim
