  1. Well the visit has been rescheduled till 1st week June (kids school holiday and all that) Got a few days off still so may visit Little-Fluffybottom-upon-Thames Oh, and thanks for the usual warm Scots welcome
  2. Haha some right spats over there isn't there. Well I'm supposed to be in Inverness visiting the relatives for a few days, but was advised to postpone it for a while due to the upcoming *cough* 'event' This thread here is the best one around right now (however edged out on toy throwing by the model thread) - hope you don't mind me hanging around here, the good old Northwest one is very quiet at the moment!
  3. Gawd if it's just gonna be that easterley the SE thread will be going mad again! Lets face it, if 20 grains of graupel fall in a small hamlet in Essex, there are about 40 pages of posts about it in the thread. In the space of 5 minutes Bless 'em End of week might be fun for me, I drive up to Inverness for a few days on Saturday 13th.
  4. Well guys it's been an absolute blast reading and participating in the regional threads these last few weeks! Brilliant cold spell, one to be remembered for a long time. Still lots of chances left before winter is out so here's to the next lot (fingers crossed) see you in there!!!!
  5. Very very light snow falling. Temp now down to 1.5 which is a blessing
  6. ere ya go http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IENGLAND202
  7. Temp at 2. Just low enough for snow if/when it reaches here, very borderline. Mind you DP is still v low at -8.1 so fingers crossed!
  8. Just checked and this is the updated webcam view.. Phew http://www.lymm.net/webcam/index.html edit: oh hold on, it says Friday Jan 2nd 1970!!!!! that's one of them Life on Mars webcams I take it?
  9. ooh that was a little touchy bear in mind i wasn't taking the pee was I? Ah well...... ps why would someone from down south be reading the Northwest Thread *ahem*
  10. It's them bleedin southerers sending their softy warm air across. lol Raining in Kent, at least so far we don't have that mate! they can keep it, would sooner have a 'dry' thaw than rain and slushy mush
  11. Too right James M - oh and I drove over to Delph for a meeting Friday morning, to say the drive over the hills was 'scenic' is a vast understatement! Anyone reading the London & SE thread? Poor buggers are very unhappy bunnies At least on this thread we are a bit more philosophical about things
  12. To be honest even if this was the beginning of the end, I don't feel like complaining too much. Best spell of cold and snow for donkeys years - magnificent. Mind you, more snow & cold would still be welcome
  13. It's a balmy 1.2 here with a DP of -9.7 hmnnnn....
  14. Aye I wouldn't mind one of those Especially the way certain people drive about - that's the only thing that has annoyed me about this cold spell, the eejits
  15. Now seems to be a strange sleety graupelly haily snow mix Slauphsnail? at least whatever it is, it's turning the roads & cars white! edit: now it's stopped so it's just plain phail
  16. Now starting to turn from sleet increasingly to snow  Dp now -1.4
  17. Some very odd dewpoint recordings being made across the region see clicky & scroll about 2/3rds down http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=53.688%2C-2.682
  18. Something just started here, moderate sleety mix. Temp 0.7 DP -1.7 edited dp to -1.7 not 1.7
  19. As the crow flies I'm about 10 miles from the coast. Will let you know how the precip turns out lol
  20. Had a very light snow shower about 15 mins ago
  21. Just been out for the past 21/2 hours with a few of the neighbours, breaking up & shovelling the 11/2" thick ice off the road outside. We live on a cul-de-sac which is on a slight incline with a river at the bottom, and to say it was slippery is a vast understatement! Absolutely lethal, cars simply couldn't get anywhere. Did about 30 metres of road + driveways (except those who were indoors but couldn't be bothered to help lol). All done now but boy is my back aching!!!!! Good way to keep warm though, helped out the elderly folk & nice community spirit (and free coffee)
