  1. We have reached a maximum of 25C here in Durham at 3.30pm....with humidity at 60%.
  2. Temp. now reached 21C, cool westerly breeze, humidity now at 79%...air-pressure at 1008 mb. Some convective cloud building to my north-west.
  3. This morning's brief shower is clearing to leave a lovely blue sky, light breeze and lots of sunshine. Temp. at 16.8C, humidity at 93%, and air-pressure at 1008 falling very slowly.
  4. There is a risk for isolated heavy showers over east anglia, northern central and north-west areas of England today. This includes parts of the northern Pennines. Risk is about 40% chance of a heavy shower. But only with a 5% chance of thunder. Here is a CAPE\LI representation: -
  5. We need a heavy shower here too. It's really really humid....even tho its only 19C.
  6. Feels lovely outside...but very humid at 95% humidity. Temperature is 18C. Clear blue sky.
  7. Temperature is now very warm....but readings of only 23C in the shade. The humidity at 65% makes it feel like 26C...
  8. Okay...the wind is dropped and the haar has completely dissipated....temperatures feel warmer now and very pleasant at 22C. Feels like 24-25 in the sun....breeze is still brisk but not as cool as it was when the sea-cloud was blowing in.
  9. Temp. only 19C here....Even Glasgow is warmer than us!!
  10. A chilly, rather brisk wind is blowing in from the south-east and from the North Sea....temp. outside is 16C. Feels like 13.5C in the shade... Boring!
  11. I can't believe its cooler in the East than the West....this sux!
  12. Temp at 15.8C, brisk and rather cool SE wind, sky covered in low-level haar. Humidity at 88% and air-pressure at 1023 and falling slowly.... I f**kin hate south-easterlies....always ruin my summer.
  13. Patchy cloud, brisk SE breeze and temperature at about 17C...
  14. 26C?!?!? How is hotter in Liverpool than in London?
  15. Pretty warm in the sunshine...cooler in the shade...Shade temperature now at 20.8C
  16. I live in a semi-rural area and on a hill (probably about 300 feet) and its quite exposed i guess. Feels quite cool outside.
  17. Really...its only 19C in the shade here! There is some cloud bubbling up across the northern Pennines....could be the odd isolated shower on the fells this afternoon. Probably be only light ones tho. BTW - Rollo...i live in Newton Hall, just 2-3 miles north of Durham City.
  18. Temp. at 15.5C, humidity at 75% and air pressure at 1024 rising very slowly. Some cumulus and cumlus congestus 'cloud streets' developing about 50 miles to my West.
  19. Could have been some very localised strong updraughts that slightly exarcebated an otherwise 'weak' cell. BTW - Are u sure the sound wasn't somebody closing their garage door\industrial noises, etc?
  20. We've had an hour of a very violent thunderstorm here in Durham...However, most of the flashes were to the East coast because this area's microclimate always diverts it. I counted flashes nearby (usually 4-13 miles away) at countless rates per minute. East coast is getting an absolute battering. This is the best thunderstorm i have seen here for a year. And as far as the coast is concerned...god knows how intense it must be there!
  21. sorry...i meant that to be an edit...
  22. Lovely and warm...with lots of sunshine...Glorious day! 23C
  23. Lol. Mike, i really wish that where i live had any thunderstorms at all. We've only had 2 the whole year where i live. Whereas 12 miles to my south-east in the southern reaches of the County - much more thundery activity has been reported, to the level of 9 instances!!! Unbelievable!
