I'm enjoying hearing of peoples' bird sightings I get a decent variety being in a village location and providing nest sites, food and a pond. A couple of days ago I had a first for here though .. A Great Spotted Woodpecker. :lol: Cheeky boy was feasting on my fat balls, the Blue Tits looked most surprised, lol. Looking forward to more 'spots' of the winter birds soon. Cheers, BL x

Interesting to read the stories about the great storm. I remember it well .. being in Northants at the time and undertaking a very 'hairy' early morning, 20 mile drive to my archaeological excavation job. I don't think I've ever worried about looking UP while driving like that before, so scared of falling trees and cables and flying debris of quite some size ! Of course got to work .. helped tie down a workers caravan .. and was promptly sent back home for safety, lol. Btw, it's amazing to me, after 20 yrs to find out for the first time the truth about Michael Fish's comments on the 'hurricane' !! The facts had escaped me, like so many others it seems. I shall enjoy the rest of the info. here and the ITV prog. on it all on Tues. at 9pm. Cheers, BL. x

Heck, build me an Ark ! I can only describe this as a rainstorm here ! We've had 1½ " rainfall since 7am and it's pelting down hour after hour. Bungalows a few doors down flooded again and the drains overflowing. Local weather station has gusts up to 52 mph too Barometer 1001 mb and falling. Temp. 13.0 C Wonder what today's full total of rain will be ! Cheers, BL.

What a soaker ! We've had exactly 3" of rain in total over yesterday up to midday today. Gardens are awash and the drains backing up worryingly, eek. Thankfully the rainfall has eased right off in the last hour. Cheers, BL.

Hi all, Woken to a light covering of snow this Spring morning with continuing showers, horizontal at times in the wind, brrrr. I'm not chuffed though like I might have been a month ago as we now have nesting birds and spawning frogs etc. Hope they make it through. Cheers, Beverley Lass
