Thanks Frogesque :-) Sorry you didn't have the pennies for a camera back then, but you're making up for it now with many super shots ;-) I've just had the most wonderful browse over at the thread you recommended and see you've been lucky enough to both witness and photo some aurora ! :-) I'll look out for alerts and pray I never miss such an awesome sight. Hi :-) Well that's Spooky ! I scanned two pics of Nacreous Clouds yesterday to share and wasn't sure where to include them, and there's your post on the topic ! lol What a wonderful sight it was and we enjoyed it for about 20 mins, like opal in the sky :-) We had a meteorological moment of fame back in Feb. 1997 when the BBC 'Weather Show' with Isobel Lang featured our two photo's ;-) I believe this may be a once in a lifetime sighting . Now my burning ambition is to see the Northern Lights ! lol Cheers, Bev. Lass

Hi again :-) Thought I'd add another pic before the close of play for Dec. now the snow has hit E. Yorks. (entered a Sunrise one previously) This is one from yesterday, 30.12.05 of the old canal here freezing over. I must say the other photo entries are just wonderful ! Stunning skies, wintry scenes and I love the arty close-up pics v.much :-) In all the months I've lurked on NW, I've only recently found this section and I'll be a regular now I'm sure :-) lol.
