  1. Hi Paul,im realy only repeating what i heard from a reliable source,the borough meteorologist for Hastings, David Powell,told me that the damage as he investigated yesterday,and then reported to TORRO,Sounded like F3 according to whoever he spoke to at TORRO

Hi everyone,my mothers house is in Fairlight,and after returning from work abroad,i was amazed at the devastation there,a clear swathe through the heart of the village,power cables down,and much structural damage to buildings,trees twisted by the vortex. Cars have been severly damaged or written off by the golfball sized hail. i have posted a detailed report on the metmonkey forum,and will try and report more on events when im a little calmer and less upset at events on Sunday night. a friend who is a Torro member has done a site investigation,and after speaking with them on his findings,they think it was an F3
  3. overhead storm in Hastings 0730 -0800,plenty of fork lightning,rain moderate to heavy
  4. best set of storms for several years here last night,the most severe ( which promted the lights to keep dimming and me to pull the plugs out occured at 2000 ) completly overhead for 10 minutes,lots of fork lightning,and sheet lightning dancing all around. Some fantastic forks striking the sea. the rainfall torrential causing flooding to roads locally

  6. Hi Tamara,the worst of it moved in a little to the East of Hastings,A place called Fairlight had overhead thunder for 10 minutes,thundery rain now and some thunder rumbling mid channel

May,above average rainfall,average sunshine hours and one day with 25c recorded,overall warmer than the long term average here June.below average rainfall,above average sunshine hours,and six days with temperatures at 25c and above.The mean 1.4c above average. July.the highest temperature ever recorded in Hastings of 33.4c on the 19th,and an incredible 19 days of temperatures at or above 25c,only 16mm of rain, and 266hrs of sunshine,the meen maximum for the month at 25c,again a record for the area.4 degrees above the long term normal. August so far...only one day with a temperature of 25c on the 3rd,rainfall way above the long term average at 108mm.sunshine average.Temperature average.

  13. Torrential rain here in Hastings from 1330 today after a dry bright morning,temperatures climbed to 19c,and have plumeted to 13c just now. Typically its the towns Carnival this afternoon

  16. :blush: Terific storm from 0300 this morning,spectaculer fork lightning and three overhead claps of thunder setting off alarms all over town There is now thunder rumbling and fork lightning over Eastbourne 1230pm
