    Sorry, but wasn't really sure where else to post this. This was a huge storm on 22/8/15, not taken by me but someone who lives on the same estate as me. I have been told the white cloud on the leading edge was a gust front? If anyone can confirm either way. This was the best storm I have ever seen, even better than the one we had in 1995. I believe this was as close to a supercell as we get here in the UK. If this is in the wrong place, please place in proper forum.

    A friend from down the road took this photo of the epic storm that hit here earlier. I told her it was a shelf cloud, but I'm not sure.

    That was almost as good as the epic storm of 95' More lightning than you could shake a stick at... Saved me from watering the garden too. You little ripper!!!

    What a contrast to yesterday's heat! Rain and gusty winds have knocked a good 10-12 degrees if not more off the temp and humidity. Wonder what we have in store for tomorrow evening/night? A number of the storms that hit the NW last night were forming overhead with spits and spots of rain, only to get 10-15 miles North and start dropping bolts.

    Will we see storms on the same level as the one we had here in 1995? Best storm I've ever seen lasting for hours. Been told storms like that happen ever 15 years or so... so we are overdue. As long as we don't get any on the weekend as got my boy with me.

    I believe this post belongs in the No Storms Club section... As it's already been stated, forecasters cannot get it right 100% of the time. They work hard to give us a general idea of what weather to expect. Weather will do whatever it likes. Storms are extremely hard to predict at the best of times, a set up like this is no exception. If you want guaranteed storms day in day out, move to the tropics...

    Been hearing rumbles thinking it's thunder... then I spotted some jets in the distance getting ready for Cosford air show on Sunday. Wonder what delights mother nature will have in store for me tonight.

    Gone quite dark in Broseley as a light shower passed through. Some tiny hail in that shower too, along with some large-ish drops.

    Light shower just passing to my West, it looked quite a little bruiser on the way in, even produced one strike North of Shrewsbury. Very slow moving. No doubt it will gain energy once it passes Telford and drop loads more bolts... As is the norm around here.

    I have just seen the best shooting star I've ever seen. It was not like the average shooting star which are gone in the blink of an eye and not very bright. This however, was quite the opposite, and fairly slow moving in comparison. At a guess, something bigger than the specks of dust that we normally see. Sorry but no photos. Wonder if anyone else saw this?

    Saw that shower Nitro. Sky was black as the ace of spades. Only passing showers here, some gusty winds too.

    Few distant rumbles from cell North of here. Looks impressive too.

    Heard a rumble from the cell over Shrewsbury. Thought it was dying a death?
