  1. It would be interesting to see a second graph showing the number of days per year with maximum temperature over 30c.
  2. Popped in here to check on how the year is going and expected more spotless days. The cycle must really be ramping up, where is the best place to look at the graphs and predictions ? I've forgotten where I used to go pre-cycle 24.
  3. Finally had a decent storm, the first of 2021. Lasted about 2 hours with fairly intense rainfall but never anything exceptional. Lightning about every minute at the peak with a few good CGs. I'd say it looked better on the radar than it was. I'd give it a 6/10, definitely one I'll remember.
  4. And there is! Heavy rain again and a CG nearby (I think), set off a car alarm.
  5. Had some heavy rain but nothing exceptional. Heard a few rumbles of thunder but no visible lightning yet - I suppose that counts as a storm. Looks like there may be more to come.
  6. A heavy shower has just popped up here out of nothing. Not showing on the radar yet. Could be the start of something
  7. To be fair I could hear some distant rumbles, either that or some planes heading to Heathrow. What does everyone think about the chances for later today?
  8. Absolutely nothing of note here. It's that calm I'm going to take the dog out.
  9. It's started raining here but the radar doesn't look like it'll produce anything lightning. I'm hoping what's come ashore in East Sussex might intensify and head this way. I hope so as not yet had anything in 2021 despite all the warnings!
  10. I think this maybe the first time I've ever been correct
  11. Every time I see one of these type of videos it always amazes me how fast people drive in such conditions.
  12. The intensity here has increased and there are hints that snow is trying to settle. Mainly a flash of white where the wind has blown it into a corner.
  13. I've just been out with the dog. The snow is incredibly dry, it was just blowing past me and so didn't get wet at all. But it isn't settling so I can only guess that the temperature is too high at the surface and the snow isn't heavy enough to bring the temperature down.
  14. It's snowing here and there is a strong wind blowing it horizontal. Looks like the ground will stay wet without it settling for now at least. A good day to not have to go out.
  15. If the block is a little stronger to the east we could see that low stall further west and send WAA up the West of Ireland which would help to reinforce the block. That would subsequently drag in the colder air over Scandinavian. That would be my preferred outcome. If it does try to come through you would expect it to disrupt more than is being shown.
  16. Powder snow also has higher ratios. 1:10 may be typical but get dry powder and it can increase up to 1:40 and create huge snow depths in the right conditions. Also a chance to see some stellar dendrites if it is cold enough!
