just drove up to the shops nearby and saw some flashes from this beastie to the south/south east

Another really heavy band of rain passing over now........ couple of rumbles here too

Just uploaded a short video clip onto youtube of the heavy shower that just passed over, producing some thunder after is passed.

Just had a really heavy shower with a distant clap of thunder about 25 mins go, the shower heading off to west. Did a couple of small vids of the cloud formations before and after, was driving during the extremely heavy rain so couldnt film.

rain now starting to ease off now....... after all me palava of finding camera ect its fizzled out just south of here.... not even weather comes to crawley
time for bed now me thinks

One flash a grumble and now rain, please tell me that is not all I am gonna see tonight!
tell me about it, seems like all the distant flashes and rumbles i saw to south east is what is passing over now, just heavy rain now and nothing more, looked really promising about 40 mins ago as the heaviest stuff seemed to be heading for us, now the main part seems to be shorting to south west of me

Heavy rain and no more flashes or thunder heard.... bah..... bet its done the usual again and missed us :/

is the weastern storm de-intensifying, not heard mush from it in awhile apart from rain

Just started raining, large drops splatting on road atm, some fairly loud distant rumbles now

Here it comes 2 long rumbles one after other.

Hear a couple of faint rumbles and now just hear first audible indoors rumble, seems to be cell to east of me

once again I put to the west of me when I meant the east and have decided tracking it all from my bed on my phone is not good enough, just been out in the garden and still pretty constant to the east and I am sure I can hear distant rumbles.
Anyone on the south coast tell me if its still looking good down there?
Sounds like a distant rumble here in crawley, not 100% sure as airconditioning is on upstairs, just heard a deep rumble.

It is me or is that blob on the meteox radar ahead of the main western cells towards eastbourne growing larger, if so could this mean the main even will exlode even more as it hist land?

mist rolled in here now, very humid now. the rain smell getting stronger and the distant high level flashes are getting brighter, saw one in the room without looking directly out of window

Have occasional sheet lightning flashing to the S of Tunbridge Wells, very still and humid out there, classic calm before the storm?
Damn why can i not be at work, transferred to T.W. PC World as a computer tech couple of months back and storms seem to miss me at home and work lol.

It's updating now, always seems to do that at midnight for some reason
Noticed the UKStorms storms one stalled too, my guess is some kind of logging or reset going on at midnight!!!
I just hoping my HD Camera can catch it if it dont veer off from crawley (nothing comes to crawley, not even weather lol)

Wow, some impressive noise on the radio (AM) really loud clear pops almost constantly!

is it just me or has the IOW weather detector stopped updating, showing a flat line and all of the strikes stalled!

Loads of faint flashes to my south west, high up lighting up the sky almost above at times,
Gone VERY quiet out with dogs barking, very erie indeed!
Also getting that "smell of rain" even though nowhere near us yet!
looking on the meteox radar is there a cell developing ahead over eastbourne way??

Checked out of my southern window, can see flashes across the sky, very impressive so far
And typical, found my tripod but cannot find my old camcorder which has the mounting plate attached... so cannot tripod up my camera :/

Woo may be able to finally catch some lightning on me new HD camcorder....... hopefully it would do the usual thing and open up a hole and skirt to either side of Crawley....
Fingers crossed i can add to my 2 poor lightning videos on my youtube account

Just came home from work in Tunbridge wells, saw some great growth to the north on way home along the A264 Tunbridge wells to east grinstead route.
I managed to take 3 pictures.
1st is in Tunbridge wells looking north
2nd is in Blackham to the west of t.wells looking north east, noticed the cloud formation growing quickly, i stopped and could see it growing.
3rd is on the eastern edge of east grinstead looking north, the formation has massively grown.
1st around 8:30PM, 2nd around 8:45 and 3rd around 9:10

nice little storm with about 6/7 rumbles just passed north of where I work in tunbridge wells.
Got VERY hot and humid too

Damn that nice big heavy blob on the meteox radar has dissipated to the south of me, was hoping for at least a really good rain storm if wasnt to see a thunderstorm tonight.
Looks like its all raining itself out :wacko:
