  1. just been football training and just north of us (grantham way) was the most impressive storm i have seen for years...constant lighting and rumbles and considerably better than all the storms i saw in jamaica last year. i rushed home to grab the camera but sadly the storm had moved on a fair bit by the time i got back so heres the best image i could get. i can't descrivbe how impressive this storm was!

  2. and just remember folks the evolution before christmas ... started cold, briefly warmer over the xmas period before the cold returned proper. I think there are some similarities and it may be the case this time round too if the charts keep sticking with this theme.

  3. well here on the lincs/cambs border its been a miserable day. grey cloud with drizzle or sleet all day long melting the small amount of snow we actually had lying. this cold period has been terrible for snow for this area as we haven't had much lying at all 2 inches at most which only lasted 1 day.

I feel somewhat left out from everything we've been seeing on the news and forecasts. I am pleased for all those who finally saw decent amounts of snowfall but Im 21 years old next week and it was supposed to be the worst in over 20 years...coldest maybe but we had more snow 1 night last february than this month so far here!?

  4. Yes, I do think the BBC graphics are underestimating the snow potential for the WHOLE region tomorrow, not just the South East, UKMO, GFS and ECM show the band getting as far north as Hull, and good runs tonight may see the Met updating their warnings tomorrow....

I agree as they have underestimated shower activity today and yesterday...it showed nothing here but activity in the wash area has gone mad the last hour or so. hopefully a top up to my 1 inch of snow

  5. to be honest im not sure at the moment. we are certainly due some heavy stuff as we seem to be part of the minority that missed out. im going to stick with my original thoughts the other night and say 2-3 inches lying by sunday night, but any more is perfectly welcome  I can't see this small cover thawing until next week

Edit: I think you'll do better than me by an inch or two being more north and closer to the coast...you guys always seem to have twice as much lol
