I think the warning is justified. It really is wild here in Tredegar. Between the rate of snow (powdery stuff) coming down and the wind whipping it up and the -7c temperature, it's dangerous out there. If it gets worse than this.....aw eck!

Blimey that's a lot of snow heading our way! Been non stop here since I got up at 6.30. Lot of swirling, drifting and bald spots (pinching the description) lol. Suspect a pipe is frozen cos water isn't draining out of my bathroom sink ?

Guess no one knows lol! The red is defo for Tredegar as I had the met office alert from the app. I've tweeted Derek B and met office. Could be dodgy if people are just looking at the weather detail and seeing Amber and not red (Amber is bad enough mind).

Can someone explain to my why met office warning sometimes mention a county but when you look at the weather for actual towns it doesn't show the warning. Today for instance Blaenau Gwent is under the red warning but when I look at the weather for Tredegar, ebbw vale, Brynmawr, abertillery etc (basically every town in Blaenau Gwent) it still shows Amber. I've noticed this previously with warnings.

Well, Derek Brockway has advised me to stay home today and not go to Newport for work and I think I'll be listening to his advice. Really nasty outside at the moment. -7c and heavy (albeit fine powdery stuff) snow coming down and being swirled around by the wind

Omg that was a scarey journey home! Heavy blowing snow and roads that don't appear to be gritted! Just managed to catch Derek Brockway saying heads of the valleys area could have over a foot! Don't think I'll be travelling far tomorrow. Currently -7c here

Snowing in Tredegar, coming down heavier than I would expect from looking at the radar. Currently -6c (might be a tad colder but my thermometer isn't in the best place). Nice drive this morning....Treforest first, then on to Newport, gonna be fun in this weather.

It's snowing here at the moment.....very very fine stuff though, had to stare long and hard at my wheelie bin (something dark) to spot it lol

I'm south east Wales and I've got a covering, nothing particularly substantial but very pretty (admittedly got a lot more altitude then you but I'm not that far away)

It's a meeting for work. Was intending on catching the train but means me driving from Tredegar at 5am on Friday to get to Newport station. I won't be chancing it if it's to nasty out there.

Met office warning has been extended into Saturday. Think I can knock my trip to London on Friday on the head! Woke up to a covering of snow this morning

I'm supposed to be driving from Tredegar to Newport at 5am on Friday to catch a train to London for a meeting. Not sure I'll be making that journey

Flash snow warning out for SE Wales valid until midday (issued at 8:18 am). Nothing here though in Tredegar, just rain despite radar snowing snow. Cold at 2c. Nothing on the cameras at Storey Arms either. Regarding snow cover in Wales.... not a clue (would suspect somewhere North) but Tredegar holds the record for urban snow (1963) according to Philip Eden - over 5.5 ft!

Looking at radar I'm in a no snow zone but it's still snowing here lol albeit really fine stuff! I've been out and yup a foot of it is down. Not sure if any more to come now but what a day although most disappointed at not being able to get to Cardiff ?

Yup! Staff can't get there and for safety reasons. This has to be the most snow since 2010.

Noo! I've got a date with steps and the Vengaboys ? Wonder why the amber warning wasn't extended? Tredegar is at a standstill, even the church and a pub has announced its shut today on Facebook ?
