    Blimey im an optimist but come on Blast we are not looking at a prolonged cold spell with deep cold...its staring s in the face for a mixed out cooler spell with a mix of snow, rain etc.....the mid range doesnt even show us anything cold now to be honest....PV trying to reform.....just maybe a high giving us chilly nights.

    To be honest mate were clutching at straws re having a winter bite this late....with models showing a re forming of the vortex over Greenland we are not going to get a teeth bitten end of winter right now...wed need a strong gh from mid Feb to even consider a late bite to our winter...it doesnt show that...Im not optimistic were going out with a bang...more a collapsing azores into the UK with chilly nights....nothing special though...shame as i want a right spark to end winter but right now it aint looking like that...

    The one stand out from a Winter of potential which was average so far.............Not knocking it after last year...but again the fact we have seen no GH is very disapointing....Maybe late Feb early March will show us that GH just to cheer us up before Spring arrives with warmth

    IMO it is very much yet to be decided re prolonged cold....GP's post, some suggestions all be it in fi are this hasnt run its course re the suggestion of W/SW regime OR heights building into the atlantic...height rises into Greenland.... building re end next week...Very interesting end of offcial winter model watching right now

    Sorry thats not true...they indicate future patterns and are very meaningful by there extension and what they show.....shortwave seems to becoming a very over used buzz word in here i am afraid.
