    light snow on and off since early morning. mountain tops are white and it looks like its set in for the day. current weather - 3.3C 16km/h wind NE 1032.8mb

    Something strange is happening in our valley. we did have snow early this morning but its now melted and the temperature is 3.3C where everywhere else in the whole of the north of england is at or below freezing. take a look at this http://www.wunderground.com/stationmaps/gm...gic=1&wmo=03222 i'm the warm one!. the valley normally holds the cold but this time we sem to be in a heat sink! anyone care to explain. Its def not my station as all the snow has melted.

    coldest night of the winter last night reaching -8.4C, blue sky and no clouds at the moment with a temp of -3.5C, pressure 1001.4 and 3km/h SE wind. a dusting of snow

    no snow here B) but it did get down to -6.8 the coldest this year. temp are at 5.2 now, presure 1000.1mb and little wind - also frustratingly my weather station has been teasing me with the snow flake for the past 2 days and its a clear blue sky!

    we're not supposed to get any snow here but we have had a brief flurry and the mountains look as though they are getting more. maybe we will have white tops by morning

    snowing on the mountains here at the moment. Had a few sleety drops here too - my wether station says its now cold enough to snow here -- all i need is a friendly cloud

    A good frost this morning and remarkbly temps are still falling (drop 1.5c in 30mins) we are now at -4.6C bar 996mb

    Patchy blue ski here with some very dark and heavey looking clouds comining from the west. Windy, temperature droping after peaking at 9.3C at midnight - now at 7.4. Barometer is droping fast at 1014.6. strongest gust at 35.4 km/hr (04:55). looked as though some heavey rain was falling on the mountains which has now stopped - hope it turns to snow.

    a warmer night - only down to -1.1 actually got up to 3.6 at 1.38am. oddly its got a touch colder as i type at -1.2

    its warming up slightly - just barely below 0 at -0.3 had got down to about -2 at 5.30 - hope it stays cold

    aha - it will interesting seeing the differences in temperatures. He's on top of the Pennines (which usually get more snow) I'm in the cumbrian mountains - nera Grisdale Pike and Grasmoor

    yes i'm looking forward to knowing how windy it is - its been very windy in the valley today - my daughter nearly got blown away. And its possibly going to snow on the mountains tonight once i'm set up i'll post the web site - as i will be broadcasting live whos OON ?

    My first post :blink: Those SST charts are very interesting - they do show quite a difference from last year. SteveB where did you get the charts - i'd like to look at them in more detail if possible. thanks
