  1. I'd agree. The daytimes are very pleasant but the nights are frosty here, so much so that my average temp is 1 degree lower than the norm! With an mean of 6.4, mean max of 13.8 and mean min of -0.8.
  2. mist has gone now and its definitly snow, probaly about an inch.

  4. vesuvius is showing some increased seismic movement. http://www.ov.ingv.it/seismogroup-file/seg...;t=GMT&id=6
  5. Matese seems to have calmed down a little but it did show very rapid and abrupt seismic movement a little while ago. Seems the region is still on the move.
  6. increased activity on stromboli too - only a little but the seis graphs are showing an upturn. shes easing off now

  8. Morning. Is there a problem with the NW 3 day forecast widget which we can embed in to our sites? Mines not showing this morning. THe only change i made to site was add googles analytical tracker, but i cant see that clashing and im sure it worked finr yesterday.
  9. snowing at long last here!!! hurray temp down to 1.3
  10. Well agian the only mountain range in england misses out on the snow - will it arrive this afertnoon or fall as rain.
  11. Warming rapidly here now. It was -3.4 at 7.30 and now its -1.7
  12. currently minus 7 up from a low of minus 7.3 - coldest this winter so far (or is that it)
  13. Down to minus 3, hope it get lower than last nights minus 6.5.
  14. Briefly got up to 7.3 here from a low minus 3.9. Im hoping for something lower than minus 5 tonight. Good to see such a big turn around from the balmy january we just had.
  15. A very wet and mild month. Mean was 6.5°C which is 2.7°C above the '71-'00 mean Rainfall was also above average at 134.8mm (132%) Who said AGW doesn't exist!
  16. Corvara - some pictures On the Sunday before the change. ... and a few days later....
  17. I've just returned from a fantastic snowy dolomite landscape. It snowed for most of the week with the odd sunny day which was a big contrast to the saturday we arrived and were met with slushy brown pistes and temperatures in double figures - now its in double minus figures. There has been so much snow that the Val Gardena pass was closed earlier today - looks like the season has done a completer U turn.
  18. Snow stopped todaz in the Dolomites and we had sun for the morning. Snow is starting agian and the temperature has dropped to -8 at 1500m and -15 at 2200m. Snow is 40 cm - 75 cm.
  19. Im in the Dolomites at the moment and we have had contstant snowfall since 7pm last night (about 450mm at lower stations and 750 on tops). Forecast to continue snowing for the next 24 hours. The snow is heavz (italian kezboards wont let me tzpe a whz!!!!!!) and wet with the temperature just above freezing. But still skiing in knee deep snow at the higher stations.
  20. That is an amazing couple of statistics. And all i wanted to hear as i leave tonight for Corvara, Alta Badia. I have been monitoring the temps on the val-gardena.com website and shocked how often the temps (even at 2000m) have been warmer than my own location. Do you have any comaprative stats, comparing averages with actual for the area. Something similar to how i have produced mine which are on line at http://www.lortonweather.co.uk/Analysis-2006.htm Things look like changing though - heavy snow is forecast from tuesday onwards - i just hope it happens. I'm just watching the live weather now and Fohn in val gardena/alta badia is producing some very strong sustained wind speeds of 80km/h with gusts up to 120km/h
  21. I think the outlook for both the pyrennes and the alps is good to very good next week. I'm off the dolomites in italy and its more probable that skiing will be prevented by heavey snow falls rather than none.
  22. Is there a problem with the 16 day ski forecast on extra - argh its not showing and i'm off tomorrow, and scarily the 12z are showing that low which was progged to pass over is now further north and could bring rain!
