  1. Afternoon everyone We had a Cell pass over around 1315hrs, couple rumbles of thunder then just rain, and boy did it come down, back home 6.5miles from where i work i recorded 5.5mm rain today Cell caame from the South West
  2. 18z Hi res charts are suggesting that the North East could possibly see another storm this afternoon I will be taking camera with me to work today, i never took it on wednesday {typical}

  4. Wow What a storm that was,! Hospital in Gateshead got hit 3 times , we was out trying to doge lightning, as alarms w2as going off all over the place, got soaked, Lightning was excellent, and the thunder was the loudest i have heard it for a very long time!, im back home now, and my rain gauge here in Gosforth just acumulated 2,0mm rain for today, so it looks like Gosforth was on the edge, glad i was working, only trouble was with me working i couldnt take no pictures ,Grrrrr
  5. Very clammy outside at the minute, current temp 23.2c Just Noticed strikes to the East of me North Sea region , also seeing stikes towards Hartlepool and Middlesbrough region{can anyone confirm} 10.9mm rain fell in the early hours of this morning,

No Thunder yet, However 8.2 mm rain has fallen already this morning, and thats since 0230hrs and its only 0510hrs, Just been outside and it feels very clammy indeed, 14.4c hopefully this might trigger some storms later this morning or early this afternoon around the North East {cameras at the ready , just in case nigel Shame i am working today , otherwise i would have headed off to the Pennines around Consett Notice the blue around the coast for the North East, We could be on the edge of a very big storm this afternoon
  7. Netweather radar picking up strikes just west of Scarborough and just to the North of York , i would say at a guess around the Northallerton , Thirsk area

Still the fog lingers, its been here since Firday now, max temp since friday 16.6c brrrr laughs, 7.3mm rain fell on friday, 4.7mm has fallen already this morning bring on next week , we definately need a storm to clear the air, Trouble is there is virtually no wind to help disperse this fog back into the North Sea current temp 14.9c

Morning everyone I am looking at early tuesdaay morning and very late Tuesday night!, {wishful thinking} We have been on the edge of a few storms but nothing directly above, take for instance the Consett storms last week, I heard rumbles in the distance towards the south west!, but nothing here its so frustrating

  15. I know the feeling, I live just up the road from you, and we was on the edge of the Consett storm, I live up in North Kenton , not a million miles away from the Jubilee pub, My daughter lives on Killingworth road in South Gosforth Its a very small world! nigel

The majority of the storms around the North East yesterday, were mainly situated towards Consett area, and Northumberland, and also high on the North Pennines, personally i think the rumbles i heard was from those storms, i think we was right on the very edge I am disappointed, that nothing developed overhead, here in Newcastle, {typical North East]
  17. Another rumble heard, this time sounded a little closer 3.1mm rain has fallen between 1636 and 1710 nigel

  19. Daughter has just sent me a text message, she lives in Consett, she says they are having a terrific storm there she also said there back garden is flooded and they have a power cut WAY HAY JUST HAD A RUMBLE OF THUNDER NIGEL
  20. Way Hay, looks like things could kick off here, its gone really dark outside, radio is crackling like mad, also heard a rumble, {distant} Bring it on approaching from the South West BRING IT ON I will be really gutted if this doesnt produce anything

Nothing this way yet, however there are some clouds building to the south of me, Looking at the radar, further North have had some strikes, around Northumberland region, Ive got a funny feeling we could miss out again here, {thats the North East for you }lol Hit and miss I am 2 mile north west from Newcastle city centre, and about 6 mile East from the Airport, Cameras at the ready, if need be i am seriously thinking of doing some chasing if nothing happens here! nigel

These showers have the potential to give local rainfall totals of 20 to 30mm in 3 hours or less, possibly in excess of 50mm in one or two places.
