Light snow here in Scarborough for the last hour or so, slight sugar dusting on favourable surfaces.
-
MetO forecast suggests largely dry for our region with just a few coastal showers unless I'm missing something?
Slushy scenes in Scarborough, good dusting away from the town centre and areas with a little height have seen a few cm's. I imagine we'll see just a little more this evening and overnight. Possibly a covering come tomorrow morning.

A proper wintry mix here in Scarborough alternating from sleet, hail and wet snow. I imagine the transition will complete and we'll see a dusting early evening.
Quite nice for mid November, though I imagine not so nice to be out in! A day for footie, packing glitter and netweather I think!
-
Incoming for the whole of North Yorkshire, will make land fall within the next 20-30 minutes and is pushing quickly south.
Now, rain, sleet or snow in the pesky warmer sector?!
-
We're already at sleet here in Scarborough, right on the coast. Excellent news, expecting the transition to snow before midnight.
-
Looking forward to showers into the early hours and tomorrow morning here, most likely will see regular snow falling after a wintry mix to begin with, which I'll take mid November.

Looking forward to the weekend being right on the coast. Fancy a dusting, should certainly see falling snow at the very least. Encouraging.

Well I'm sorry but it doesn't come clearly over the internet sometimes, especially when people do lie.
I'm only playing.

15c? On the wind up?
Clearly.

Interesting setup tonight then! 250ft of elevation here, with 500ft 2 minutes down the road... may be worth the trip.
-
We have what looks like spitty rain or sleet here currently, hope your right my friend.
Wish you luck. In any heavier precipitation I'm sure you will see snowfall as in 'marginal setups' we really are one of the least likely to come out on top in terms of PPN type falling as snow.

It's going to be rain at 80M's.
Sorry bud, but no it isn't apart from very locally.
Light snow just started here in Newark, we're about as flat as you get - with a whacking great power station heating us, too.
-
Seems to be taking a slight NE track? moving quite smartly as well.
NE is the correct track, as forecast, yes.
-
Heavy snow here in Newark-on-Trent, radar looks good for the next hour or two. Can't see it sticking, but it's the first snow of the winter so I ain't complaining!
-
Here we go then... chance of some light snow showers throughout the next 48 hours espec, E Mids... wouldn't normally be too pleased with this but considering the fact its the 29th of January and I am yet to see snow fall this winter, I'll take it! Looking forward to seeing the first flakes of the season.
-
Heavy sleet here for the last half hour or so, distinctly closer to snow in the last 10 minutes or so. First "wintry shower" of the winter - it's taken till the 23rd of Jan. Practically no elevation here BTW- so quite surprising.
-
Here we go then, round two just getting underway here after 'pretty much' dry few hours. Getting pretty wild out there again.

This is all been a bit of a storm in a tea-cup if u ask me.
You realise the storm hasn't formed as yet? These kind of posts are likely to mislead many of the newer members!

Thanks for the replys guys
Its great on here, even more so for a learner like me!
I remember seeing a few posts in the model thread showing intense rain further north on the north side of the low i think it said. I guess it could have changed now though.
Enjoy the ride everyone, its fun sharing my interest with all of you
NE Mids/Lincs/Yorks/East Anglia likely to see the heaviest of the rainfall tomorrow morning, some big totals especially over higher ground.

Hi guysI thought the north, whilst missing out on the wind, was going to get most rain?Looking at the radar for the past few hours, the heaviest rain is along the south coast and I cant see any northward movement of that at all??Not much getting up to Sheffield it seems!
Seriously... this event is still 6+ hours away for your area... check the radar again in the early hours. Everything is going *pretty much* as planned so far. Kick back and watch the drama unfold, don't worry.

If its going to bomb ,it better get a move on ..
It's on schedule, it really doesn't need to "get a move on" as your suggesting. Sit tight.
