  1. Fridays event will get downgraded it happend to todays event within a few hours its to far away to get excited about.

    I couldn't agree more.

At one point last week, it was suggested that we might be needing snowmobiles to get to work today..........look how today ended up.

I will believe it when I see it.

I want it to happen, though.......... getting a bit peed off with all the downgrades.

  2. I know I said it's snowing, but really it's a bit more like a sprinklng of salt on the car roof!

At my old house I had a nice carport to stand under and a good lamp post outside.......I could stand in comfort and watch it fall.

Here in my new house it's not so good.......no shelter and dodgy dazzling bright orange streetlights.

I shall go outside and try to find a way to enjoy it in comfort, as long as it hasn't stopped!

    Back in a bit..........

  3. Have we ruled out Monday and moved onto Thursdays events?

    Looks like it to me.

I'm beginning to feel like a donkey with a carrot dangling on a stick in front of him (her)........it's always just out of reach.

I'm off to do the wallpaper stripping that I should have done yesterday.

Then, this afternoon, I shall sit down with a pot of tea and a plate of crumpets and watch The Day After Tomorrow.

See you all later, lovely peeps. drinks.gif

  4. Good lord Saturday nights in are boring. I deliberately didn't make plans as I thought I would be snow watching. sorry.gif

It feels warmer outside yet is apparently 2c, there is very little wind now though.

I've spent the entire day waiting for snow and didn't have one flake! I could have stripped the paper off the hall ceiling and taken the curtain pole down ready for the plasterers.cray.gif Now I'll have to do it tomorrow.rolleyes.gif

  5. Looks like this cold spell could be epic for those of us west of the tamar.cray.gifcray.gif

Just think of us while your building your snowmen.

I bet it won't just be the "West of the Tamar" folk who miss out.

But, there will probably be "The No Snow Club" to join, where the snowless can drown their sorrows together.

I bet there will be quite a few members. We are all in it together at the moment (where have I heard that recently?!) and there might be some sort of consolation in being the longest serving member? An award or something, letters after one's name?smile.png

  6. Quite since 3:30 with some very heavy bursts at times here in East Devon, though broken up and showery now. River is quite high after rising pretty quickly. Rain today 11.6mm according to weather station.

The Netweather social radar shows 10/10 snow in a few locations around Devon/Cornwall including Exeter and Plymouth and Truro.. hmm lol

Am in East Devon this weekend.

Re your mention of the river rising quickly (which river are you referring to, BTW, as I'm East Devon born and bred), some roads around me are starting to flood already, after just a few hours' light-ish rain. The ground is just so saturated. Some fields have been permanently flooded for over 4 months now.
