  1. Well we got about 2 inches but the roads are really dangerous with all the ice as well, so I'm staying home today. Which is bad cos I don't get paid (contracting  ) but I do get to enjoy the snow It's just started another blizzard and the temp has gone up to -0.4c from -1.2c earlier Off to take my son sledging
  2. Temps have gone up from -1.5c to -0.6c, does this mean there is more snow on the way  we've had about 1.5 inches of snow tonight but has stopped now.
  3. Well it's started in York & by the time I got home had been steadily snowing for a while by the look of things. There is one huge black cloud dumping the stuff at the moment
  4. Just had a brief flurry in York - stopped now but the clouds are building up
  5. Well what an afternoon - had a real whiteout coming back home this afternoon  . All the cars coming towards me had totally white fronts & no number plate. The snow was settling on the main road, making it quite slippy coming down the long hill. It's still snowing here, not a whiteout but a good steady fall, temp down to 0.9c....sorry 0.8c
  6. :? Humm...not sure what "Grapple" LWH but we have very light snow falling at the moment
  7. We've got brilliant sunshine & snow  It's very small stuff but lots of it
  8. :o We too have just had a short snow shower but it was snowing sideways  It's not settled but the temps are dropping I'm sure any more we get may stick
  9. Nice BMW Hubbie had one just like that Snow has finally subsided, still a few flakes but not blizzard !!
  10. Sideways blizzards at the moment. Drifting seems to be the biggest problem up here, any treated roads are just rendered useless
  11. Currently white out blizzard conditions. It started with really high winds, swirling around but has now settled in to a steady dumping of snow :? Hmmm, think I better phone hubbie & tell him to get home p.s. Snowy - glad to hear you got some or I would never hear the last of it
  12. Well Blimey O Riley we must have 4 inches & it's still snowing  Looks like I get a lie in tomorrow
  13. OMG how much snow!!!! It started snowing about 8Pm & now we have loads approx 2.5-3 inches Looks like me is not going to work tomorrow
  14. Just had a report from a work collegue that it is snowing in Pickering on the N York Moors & the local school has just sent everyone home. Looks like I maybe going home early
  15. Well we've had a shortish shower and now have a thin layer of settled snow. It feels really cold  I just hope we get some more before I have to set out for work "oh sorry, can't come in, I'm snowed in"
  16. Hey nobody likes a boaster!! Only joking, don't look like it's melting up here. Cool site Paul, I'll have to let my friend have the link cos she lives in NA
  17. We've had a couple of inches, but on totally untreated roads it has been a nightmare. What would normally take 5 mins took 40 tonight  Oh well, I'm safe at home now & not working tomorrow so bring on the snow It's my son's 2nd birthday tomorrow, so a good helping of white stuff would be much appreciated
  18. :? hummmm......it's definately raining sideways. Very strong winds touches of hail in with the rain.

  23. WOW Well I didn't think we were going to get anything, but I've woken up to a lovely wintery scene. At least 2 inches - I now have to work out how to get to work :?
  24. Not quite current conditions - approx 5.30pm Going up Sutton Bank (v steep hill) Temp dropped from 8c to 3c in mins. Started to rain lightly, then chucked it down with sleet (yes sleet) Hubbie didn't believe me 10 mins earlier when I said "they look like snow clouds"
