A quick look at the weekend with the ecm. The positively tilted trough to the west starts to deconstruct as the trough that has tracked down from Canada merges with it by midnight Saturday Thus low pressure is in charge of a very unsettled weekend with pulses of heavy rain running up a waving front through Saturday and Sunday effecting the southern half of the country. And by midnight Monday more frontal rain is approaching from west

It's been quite an event here. The rain i still coming down in stair-rods...... I dread to think what's going on locally in low-lying areas.

Recent tweets from Suffolk & Norfolk Fire & Rescue say they are inundated with calls and for people not to call 999. Beccles train station has also closed due to a large sink hole. There are also widespread power-cuts in Southwold & Halesworth.

This will go down as a historic rainfall event for these parts.

its now poring down here  again  see reports of big problems  around norfolk  as  well

Was half expecting it to be a washout day today, but it’s been quite the opposite in fact. Sunny intervals with a moderate breeze.

Nothing is really looking wet despite the rain we’ve had overnight.

lots  of  parts in suffolk/norfolk  are  flooded at the  moment have had record admounts  of rain  and its still pouring  down!!!

Currently looking like I'll miss the worst of the winds with the centre moving over me or just to the South. Hoping it pushes further North and I'm on the Southern flank. I never seen a storm with so much uncertainty ever regarding track.

just  be  safe there  could  get a  bit nasty  there !!
