    Temp been constant here for the last 7 hours, currently 1.4c and snowing heavily. Looking at the rain today radar, I am in the middle of Manchester and Southport, so looks like at least a good few hours of snow remaining.

    I have a temp of 1.3c and it is still snowing - had rain lastnight when it was snowing everywhere else. About 3" this morning.

    Currently 2c here. Few hundred yards up the road (20m higher) it is snowing and I have sleet. Now that's marginal for you. Wind is still coming from the damn SW! Went for another drive up to Rivington and it is snowing everywhere but here wish I hadn't bothered now.

    I know - pretty amazed myself - it was 2.3c when it started and has since fallen to 1.7c and dp 1.3c As I was saying, my winds are showing from the SW, so there must be a very low level layer of warm air but colder immediately above. Flakes are big, but at the rate they are dropping it seems that they must be rather wet. Still sticking though and not melting except slightly on the cars.

    Snowing here now with large flakes at temp of 2c and dp of 1.5c Winds are still coming from the SW but the cloud height temp must be cold enough. There is hope for all.

    Errrr, I'm getting SW winds - wasn't expecting that! Maybe that's the reason for the temp rise - currently 2.2c and max today was only 2.4c

    Light snow here has changed to what i can only call 'ice' - it is not snow, hail, graupel or sleet??? Temp still rising and currently 1.8c with dp of 1.2c

    I would say that it is about 100m at the most - I am at ~60m. Just looked outside and it is actually very lightly snowing Temp has gone up to 1.3c and dp of 0.6c! My sensor is near my pond - that small a mass of water wouldn't make the reading higher would it??? Maybe I am getting the lake snow effect

    Current temp here 0.7c with a dp of -0.2c Almost exactly the same as earlier when it snowed a little, so here's hoping :lol: Edit: the light snow brought it down to -0.3c at the time.

    Current temp -5c with a dp of -5.6c. Temp seems to be fluctuating, so there must still be some small patches of cloud around.

    That's the road I went up last night. It was unbelievably slippery. I consider myself a decent driver but still ended up facing the other way on the steep bit on the bend. That's the problem driving a rear wheel drive car in this weather, too much power and it spins, too little power and you stop and can't get going again

    There seems to be a big group of off-road type vehicles up there all the time. They make it look easy - but where's the fun in that Temp risen slightly here to 1.6c!!!

    I couldn't get right to the mast (they have gated it now), but I got to the top of the minor road that overlooks the Reebok. No great amounts of snow but very icy. The road to Belmont from Rivington is ok apart from the little steep section on the bend. I ended up sideways and thought best to go back down instead. If I had got past that bit then it would have been easy.

    On top of winter hill at the moment. Can see the band of snow just leaving Manchester. Tried to get over to Belmont from Rivington but I couldn't make it in the lotus. Not really a winter car though

    Temp not dropping much (1.9c) but dp is (-2.4c) now. Think that band will just miss me - may be as well.

    I meant previously:- EXTREMLEY HEAVY SNOW WITH MEGA FLAKES - 1 Frosts - 6 Airfrosts - 6 Snow - 3 Ice days - 1 Minimum so far - -3.2c- 18/12/09 Snow falling - 3 days Snow laying - 5 days Hail - 1 - LEFT AN INCH! Lowest maximum so far: 0.7c - 18/12/09 I admit - pretty poor right now ina few places including my own. On a positive note my temp is now starting to drop (2.1c) and definitely my dp (0c) so there is hope yet
