  1. Started the day in Chadron, NE and had to make the long drive back towards Dallas Fort Worth ready for flights back on Monday. The slight risk extended from MN down to Central Kansas with a cold front being the main focus point. Our target was to get to Norman, OK, some 800 odd miles away and on the way down the I135 I noticed some tops going up just south of McPherson, KS. There seemed to be some kind of outflow boundary and storms initiated as small cells but fairly quickly merged in to one LP supercell just east of Hutchinson moving ESE along another boundary that was interacting with the first one! As we turned west at Newton we got a great view of a wall cloud and visible rotation but alas she just cound not do it. Followed it down to a few miles west of Wichita where we set up the cameras and managed to get a fair few snaps of some anvil zits and crawlers :D

Had food in Wichita and a few beers and now on the road to Norman. Will hopefully get some pics up either tonight or in the morning.

I'd like to say a big thanks to Paul, John, Tom and Nick and of course all the guests for making these two trips an amazing experience again and hopefully look forward to doing it all again next year! :D

Tom says bye for now and has said to watch this space for Chicken George Probe MK1 :D Also he passes big thanks on to all the team and all the guests for making it another storming chase season for him :D

    Bye for now!

  2. Just seen the flooding at Talybont on news 24, we used to have a member there, hope he's ok.

That's me! Currently storm chasing in the USA with the Netweather team, bloody typical I miss this! Woke up this morning to see The Weather Channel showing a clip of a truck pushing a car around morrisons roundabout, very bizzare in the middle of North Dakota lol! Luckily I'm at the top end of the village so our house escaped but there's a fair few houses badly affected. Home on Tuesday so will be able to see for myself, looked very bad though from the pics :(

  3. Well today is over, these stupid blooming cars :( One of them has locked all the doors with the car running, apparently a comment fault on these piece of rubish cars :( FUMING wallbash.gif Been waiting almost 2 hours for someone to come out and sort it only for them to say after 2 hours there's not enough location info to find us, we're sat inbetween the north dakota and south dakota sign lol! Can't be that hard to find :(

Waiting on the local locksmith now and if that fails................

  4. Okay we're off, models have not panned out for today further north, probably for the best to be honest as we need to start heading back towards Dallas. Initially heading to south central south dakota somewhere on the I90 and will then take a check on data etc smile.png

Extreme flooding back home in my town, typical! biggrin.png

  5. Morning! Started the day off in Wyoming and headed south to play the slight risk. Missed out on a cell that dropped a tornado in Wyoming but got the beast that tracked south from Byers, CO. Caught a cone tornado and insane structure near Calhan. Also got cored with baseball sized hail getting away from this thing to head north for todays risk and ended up with two cars getting some decent hail dents and one getting a cracked windshield Posted Image

Couple of stitches and some video of the cone and core :D

DISCUSSION...CONVECTION IS DEVELOPING FROM SERN WY INTO THE

FOOTHILLS OF NRN CO IN ADVANCE OF TWO SHORT WAVE TROUGHS MOVING

ACROSS THE NRN AND CENTRAL ROCKIES. LOW LEVEL MOISTURE HAS RETURNED

WWD TO THE EDGE OF THE HIGHER TERRAIN WITH SURFACE DEW POINTS IN THE

50S. VISIBLE IMAGERY SHOWS CLOUDS DIMINISHING OVER NERN CO AND

BREAKS DEVELOPING OVER SERN WY...WHICH WILL PROMOTE STRONG AFTERNOON

HEATING AND FURTHER DESTABILIZATION. FAVORABLY LOW LCL HEIGHTS AND

INCREASING VERTICAL SHEAR THIS AFTERNOON INDICATE POTENTIAL FOR

SUPERCELLS TO DEVELOP CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL...STRONG WIND

GUSTS..AND POSSIBLY SEVERAL TORNADOES. STORMS WILL GRADUALLY

DEVELOP EWD WITH TIME AS THE SHORT WAVE TROUGHS CONTINUE TOWARD THE

    HIGH PLAINS.
