Baynesey (snow chaser) replied to Jayces's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
00000000 dear..... you 2 must have your own little climate round your houses, or i must not no what snow is...... i saw snow before xmas, which i was fishing in down at deal, and deal dover and folkstone had more then most places in east kent, and i have snow laying on the ground now here just outside canterbury. if you love snow enough to sit on a forum wishing it to come, you wont care about the amount you get, your just be out enjoying it which is what i plan to do today...... if we get more bonus.... if not we have some lovely!!! i love snow as much as any of the huge rampers on here but all this whinging is rather sad.... its snow get a grip!!! Rant over... -
Model Output Discussion
Baynesey (snow chaser) replied to Coast's topic in Forecast Model Discussion
i have very limited knowledge of the models....and really cant say if this is a downgrade or upgrade..... eariler on in the run the SE seems to hold on the the -5 long the the 18z but does look as good for the rest of the uk then later on thursday time.... the colder uppers seem to stay away in the north sea... but the cold on this run at t120 does seem to be heading more sw instead of south like it did on the 18z, so at least the colder air is near by the the longer term!! -
Model Output Discussion
Baynesey (snow chaser) replied to grab my graupel's topic in Forecast Model Discussion
well this is my first post this winter... but i have been watching the model thread for the last week, and i no the really cold stuff aint set in stone yet, but the colder stuff by the weekend pretty much is. which will be very welcome, like many we havent even had a forst yet!!! we really have come so far in such a small space of time 7 days ago talk of cold was really wishful thinking or so many of us thought, and even at the beginning of the weekend it was still a long shot. but im still a bit nervous about the stuff that anyones getting excited about, after a few disappointment esp last year when the easterly was within the reliable but suffered huge downgrades at the last mintue. but what i have noticed with this up and coming event, is the fact the models all came into line, quite early on and within a few runs of each other, when this kind of event has been seen in the models before, one model has normal stayed away for the real cold stuff, and we have all been wish for it to fall inline, and it normally would for 2-3 runs then jump ship again... for the rest then to follow..... i dunno if people like mr murr, teits, JH, etc..... have noticed this or im just talking rubbish..... and i dunno if anyone can answer this... but this must be a record for good consecative runs for cold lover??? we normally have a much more eventful rollcoster then this, we just keep going up and up..... im just hoping its not just building up for a big dip :smiliz19: -

i dont believe so, an image i saw eariler shows the low sitting around the channel isles, and the ppn was the the east, so if the low had pushed over us id have thought the ppn would have been pushed into the north sea. The low has been very slow moving and i believe its been sitting where it is for most of today, making slow movement eastwards, if anything ive been pressure rises in canterbury, since 2 this afternoon!! -
