  1. I have been following your posts over the last couple of days and i think you nailed it pretty well youself,
  2. Hi VP That was a fantastic storm, even better with the lightning detector, family kept saying don't waste your money we never get storms!!! well what can i say
  3. This is mental haven't seen anything like this for years, pea size hail and hammering down
  4. Bought a lightning detector about three weeks ago and its going made at the moment, looks like i am sitting right in the firing line. CG's visible from my back window looking to the west.
  5. Hi Oon Its a Blackbird, the female blackbird is more of a brown colour which from that view could look like a Thrush but the give away is that the nest of a Thrush is linned with mud and it looks as though that one is not . BU
  6. April has registered 14.4mm of rain this year compared with 38.8mm last year, and March was well down on last year as well !
  7. Very dry April so far with only 10.8mm and most of that was last week in the thundery outbreak / unsettled few days we had
  8. Hi Stu What a fantastic programme you are doing exactly what i would love to do and you have strengthened my resolve to fulfil my ambition one day.Every year i give serious thought to going with Paul Sherman chasing Tornado's but family holiday comittments tend to take presidence over the holiday days i have available but the kids are growing up now so one day soon.Hope you stay on the forum i feel sure a lot could be learn't from your input All the best Steve
  9. Snowing fairly steady now and settling on the cars and grass, not heavy enough to settle on the road yet
  10. Something must be happening i just noticed that a huge area on the Net Weather has turned green for sleet
  11. Its raining here with a temp of 3.3c and dew point 1.8c the radar has us right on the edge of snow/sleet but it is rain so keep your fingers crossed  you are a bit further up the coast
  12. Looking at the radar the precipitation is snow just to the south of me at around Southend i wonder how long it will stay like that ?Temp is 2.9c and dew point 0.3c !!
  13. Lets hope so this week has been a bit tedious to say the least watching the news every night and feeling like we were in a different country!! Anyway a good storm will provide a bit of action even if it does'nt snow and then there's always the end of the week to look forward to ..........maybe
  14. I think that the next few days will follow the same pattern as the past week and we will be on the wrong side of the low pressure and therefore we will get rain unless the track takes a more southerly direction........here's hoping
  15. I will look forward to that and i hope the same problems don't come into play Sunday and Monday
  16. Once again we have rain rain rain this is getting a bit tedious
  17. Hi Paul, i will be interested to read that when you have it prepared as we were so badly let down when everything was in place to deliver as it has done in the past but then failed.Over the years that setup has been fantastic it has unloaded as it reached the coast only going a few miles inland before fizzling out but this time the exact opposite!! I look forward to reading your findings Regards BU
  18. Its been raining here for an hour and a half now and the small amount of snow we had is melting fast temp 2.1c dew point 1.5c sad state of affairs really
  19. Paul you are not alone tha same thing is happening to me the showers begin to build just off the coast then drift overhead giving me a sprinkling and then continue to drop more and more as they get inland, very strange as it doesn't normally happen like that. Also normally the showers build further out to sea so they are ready to drop when they get here.Perhaps somebody could explain why they are building so close to the coast this time?
  20. Hopefully by then your path will be covered in snow and you won't need to make an ice rink
  21. Hi Donna_M i should try it now the temp has dropped 0.5c in the last half hour to 1.3c and the dew point stands at -3.5c and in this wind i would expect it to dry pretty quick
  22. Just started snowing here now reasonably heavy too
