Looking at the radar, there’s still a good few hours to come as well!
-
Just looking at the radar and that glut of precipitation that’s over the south seems to have stalled somewhat - it doesn’t seem to be shifting much further north past Nottingham - is that the stuff that’s meant to be coming up to us later today?
-
I’m confused - according to both Netweather radar apps, I have snow/precipitation right over me now, yet no falling snow at all? Am I reading it wrong?
-
Any ideas as to how much will fall in the CleckHuddersFax area tonight...? #imby
-
Yes, but clouded over about 10mins ago and now snowing heavily again.
-
Lovely bright sunshine in Huddersfield!

If Sausage is out there - please may I join your club mate?
Behind me in the queue!

Amber warning? What a joke. Doesn't even warrant a yellow warning for the vast majority across the county by the sounds.
It is still coming down but very, very gently with teeny tiny sized flakes, almost graupel. Sky looks as though its getting brighter as though its going to stop snowing very shortly.
I'm all for Spring coming now - fed up of getting my hopes dashed.
-
Stopped now. Hopefully some more will pep up a bit later...

Snowing lightly here in Skelmanthorpe. Radar looks good for next couple of hours at least, unless something screwy happens when the sun rises...

Wednesday night could herald a major snow storm for us in Yorkshire
40mph winds -6.oC and heavy snow.
Drifting snow even to low levels.
Treacherous Blizzards
All of Yorkshire or just the more easterly regions?

Does a humber stream run from humber to south yorks/west yorks in a typical easterly does anyone know?
Oh, I hope so...

All of the snow symbols have disappeared for both Sunday night, all day Monday and all day Thursday from the Met Office for my area. Tuesday is stop and start with Wednesday now being the most promising day. What a damp squib. ?

ok so i am staying out of the MOD thread and staying in here, sick of reading about the south now, you would think no where up here even existed ?
Yep, I hear ya. Anything north of Leicester Forest is unchartered terratories as far as the Mod thread is concerned! ???

Yes if the weather pattern plays out like the UKMO or ECM runs for next week (or most of the runs tbh) then I am fully expecting some dangerous conditions.
Very strong Easterly winds with severe windchill, heavy drifting snow with whiteout conditions at times, thundersnow the lot!
The further East you are the better (or worse) the conditions will be but I can see many rural communities being cut off especially over high ground.
Let's just hope that if the outlook remains the same into the weekend that the warnings start to ramp up as this really does look like quite a notable and severe spell of weather coming up. The fact that it's occurring into the early part of March means alot of people may be taken off guard and are too complacent.
That aside sure does look fun!
Reckon they’ll make it as far as Cleckhuddersfax?

Interesting to note that precipitation is getting pushed back everyday. We started off on Sunday with snow showers from Saturday, it’s now been pushed back to Tuesday. Much as it’s going to be bitterly cold, I can see this ending up being dry as a bone!
-
Yep, it’s going to be cold, but just can’t help thinking it will all be happening around my particula location - I refer to an earlier post I made, we seem to be too far north/south/east/west of all the good stuff that comes to the UK at the moment. Apart from rain. We get tons of rain...

Got to be honest - it feels flippin' cold out there at the moment! That wind is a bit of a chiller!
-
Rain Rain Rain Rain Rain RAIN here from around 7.30am.
Dull as ditch water...
-
Thoughts on tomorrow anyone?
-
Nothing fallen overnight. Definitely feels cold enough for snow and although there are a few tiny grauple-like flakes floating around this morning, it just feels too dry for anything of any note (including a dusting at this point!).
I think that my particular little little spot is too far north/too far south/too far east/too far west for any of the forecasted white stuff this winter! Haha!
-
Hmm...I’m get the feeling, from the lack of posts in this particular form, that there isn’t really any excitement for this up-coming ‘cold’ spell. It’s going mad in most of the other regional forums! I reckon it’s the Yorkshire realism kicking in! ?

Cancelled the winter tyres plan, so definitely more than a foot by next weekend.
Good ol’ reverse psychology! Let’s hope it works! ?
-
I’m expecting light stuff if anything at all next week. Not getting my hopes up for anything substantial lying - been far too many near misses this winter, where forecasts have been wrong.

When is this all meant to start then?
