I wouldn't pay much attention to anyone saying anything definite. We're a few hours into an extended period of snow, no-one knows anything about whether we will or won't get snow. Especially with convection etc etc.

We're a few hours in what is likely to be a 24-36hr event and some of you have already thrown in the towel even though snow could occur regardless of precip forecasts. Just be patient, as the cold comes in the snow will follow.

Nothing here in Lowestoft, moisture in the air but that's it. The radar is even worse, anything that comes near here just evaporates into thin air.

Pretty depressing charts for me right now. I've not seen a single chart with snow for me :(, and every update makes it less and less likely, sigh.

well I can't posts charts at the moment due to been in hospital and only having acess to my phone. The reason I think the gfs might be closer to the actual outcome is that so far this winter it's been closer to the mark more often than not. I just feel that the ECM has performed poor this winter. But these next few days should tell us who's right. Anyway back to my wonderful hospital food.!!!
But the GFS hasn't, every time posters post the rankings or whatever they're called, it's either the UKMO or ECM at the top.

I think a lot of people will be firing up the boiler from tomorrow.......
Maybe, for me it just means I can finally shut my window, I live opposite a busy road, railway and a river (with alot of ships coming and going), so ambient noise has been the bane of my existence for the last 7 months.

My computer heats my room superbly, so unless it's freezing outside, the heating stays off, which means my heating has been off for well over a year now.

Right, I'm a newbie at this volcano marlarkey, and am following the github site. Is the increase in quakes over 2.0 a sign of impending eruption or is it just the magma moving and not a precursor to something big? Because there's been a plethora of 2.0+'s on the site and they seem to be coming more rapidly.

Just had a 2.8 and a 3.1 at 1.1km on the github site. Seems it's not slowing down, at all.

I've been following the github page, are the numbers on there lower than reported? If so the earthquakes are coming thick and fast. Just had a 2.2 and a 3.5 within 2.5km.

Okay winter you can now throw in the towel and go away. you've had a long enough run this year and we're all fed up with you now.
Winter never even made the first bell, it's been down for the count since Dec 1st.

The radar blob says it's snowing, the eyeball test says otherwise.

AGAIN!!! You lucky things.
It's really coming down here now and it's as bright as day here. It's lovely. Just been out for a ciggie and had the satisfaction of hearing that glorious crunch underfoot.
Again? Not had Thundersnow in my area in ages, but tonight is a good'un. Dogs absolutely love it.

OMG! I haz snow!!! I was watching a movie expecting nothing, come and check my window and there's a covering, I missed the snow falling

Grrrrr, that area of precip heading towards Ipswich is skirting here
. Been out to walk the dogs and the skies are clear, not even a sniff of snow right now. -
I'm not sure if I should start lamppost watching yet. Dewpoint is -0.5 but temp is a balmy 3.5c

Cold uppers are gonna reach me first, but the snow last, never liked Western fronts, give me some North Sea convection please.

It did the same at the 00Z yesterday only to revert to the ECM in later runs. Like a model Groundhog Day so far.
It's also just the NOGAPS.
Until Ian F tells us the MetO are going with the GFS, I'm going to ignore it's contrasting view.
