What do the green dotted circles represent?
Green dotted circles represent tracked thunderstorms, the data relating to them should be visible further down the page. Each storm has a number which relates to the traxreport
Storm hit here with very gusty winds, strong enough to tip empty wheely bins over and topple some road closed signs we have outside our place. Very heavy rain followed with sheet lightning and thunder all over-head but did not see any CG lightning.
Still raining with some odd flashes and rumbles but much brighter and less violent that initial start

Looks like IOW Dorset and Hampshire are in for some storms in the next few hours - strange that the Met Office have removed the severe weather warning this area had first thing this morning ??
-
Turning dark here in the Wallops, light spots of rain, storms not too far away. Following link very useful for local area info:
Hopefully I'll have some pictures to post later today
-
Still plenty of storm activity around especially in Oxfordshire this morning. Post your reports for thursday here

This mornings storm didn'y last long, about an hour. Rain eased considerably for most of the morning after the initial thunderstorm but for the last hour it's be coming down bucket loads with some squawliness thrown in and just heard a rumble of thunder. Very low cloud base in area.
15.45pm Just to update: its rained so hard here we now have a flooded car park and the road at the bottom of our garden is flooded, guess there must be other areas of localised flooding now.

Ilminster, Somerset
I was in Ilminster this morning having visited relatives in the area overnight. Really suprised to wake to dark skies and rumbles of thunder. Saw several good flashes of lighting including one fork on a nearby hill, really thought it was going to kick off big time but after some steady rain it all died out.
Have driven back up to Andover via A303 this afternoon and did not encounter any further storm activity on route.
Some minor cloud building in Andover area but only small stuff.

19c very bright and sunny some thin patchy high level cloud (as my picture left)
-
Hampshire 16.35 Thunder heard here, storm looks to be slightly South East. Sun still too bright to see any lightning.

Shut down the pc last night after my inital report as lights started dimming. Storm passed over with various sheet and fork lightning, this lasted about an hour, one burst of really heavy rain and the odd bit of rain inbetween. Expected more rain considering the amount of thunder and lightning.
Lightning was still visable in the distance (SW) up to 10.30pm.
Great to see a decent if fairly typical thunderstorm again.

thunder and lightning Middle Wallop hants. no rain yet

Fantastic stuff Guys, great pictures, just love it all ! but oh so jealous...
-
light snow flakes / snizzle mix at various times since first light until about now (11am) when the sun has suddenly decided to appear !
-
Few flakes in the wind a little while ago, now stopped. Flakes fell at the rate of oh. there's one...and there's another...a few more...oh it stopped. But they were a nice size (about 10p) and it keeps us out of that exclusive club Abingdon is in :-)

Woke at 6.15am light dusting of snow on roofs and cars. Went back to bed and got back up at 10am (lovely lye-in ) only to find the snow had gone and it looked like it hadn't even been here!
-
Snow flurry / short shower in Middle Wallop Hants. Looking dark and showery to North dispite nothing showing on the Met O radar
-
Started grey but dry this morning. Snow started around 10am and continued until well past lunch, always steady but fairly mainly small flakes, stopped for a while before returning as rain. Now have a sleety mix. Never settled on anything at any time during the day.
-
Breezy, feels cold, showers, just had one that turned to hail and became very squawly
-
light snow / snow grains, Middle Wallop Hants. Car says outside air temp is currently -2 degrees
-
Middle Wallop Airfield reporting snow at 8am this morning according to Met obs. page, must have blinked and missed it. Been -1 or lower all day so I guess officially an ice day here.
Just to add to this:
Have just been looking at the observations page on the Met Office site and the following two locations are currently reporting snow:
Wittering in the Midlands
Coltishall in the Eastern Counties
-
finally after a long wait Sleet / Snow steady but wet. Hoping it carries on towards snow
-
There are children in my village that had not seen snow till last week, so even tonight's little none event is still worth noting, and yes it's still snowing here so we should have a York Moors type covering by the end of Feb at this rate :-)
-
still have steady light snow, a little heavier than earlier post. Must be fairly local as I can't see any echoes for it on the Met radar
-
Very light snow falling, never seen it fall so slow. Flakes just bigger than ants

Woken up by a very lazy storm at 4.30am this morning. Long low drawn out rumbles of thunder and a few flashes of lightning. A look outside revealed very misty murky conditions and signs of some rainfall. Storm grumbled on until I fell back to sleep around 5am. No idea what time it started but fairly sure it was fading out at 5.
Currently bright but fairly cloudy.
