OK this is too mental to believe so I'm going out.Don't want a memory of being sat at a laptop with huge flakes and a whiteout outside. Laters chappies and chapesses. Might post from my phone.
-
Thinking about going out for a bit before it sleetifies again. Don't know how long till the next chance. Any Fylde coasties want to meet up??
-
Still absolutely chucking it down....wife in bed, ain't interested! Lol, in the snow event.
How many inches have you got mate?
-

-
Your just down the road from us....great isn't it think I'm more excited than the children ha ha
Ditto my friend. Different to 2010 but rreminds me of it. Might change my signature pic, except the n/w radar shows blue not pink which I just don't get!!

Ok this is mental. Just opened the front door. Pure heavy snow now and everything white. Old news compared to many of you guys but heck it was RAIN here and still shows rain on the radar. Tbought I'd check cos I couldn't hear rain on the window any more- it had gone quiet - flakes! V odd but great!
-
Just looked outside to see roads & cars covered but its heavy sleet with lots of drips everywhere. So wish I was inland with elevation tonight! Some wonderful reports from around the NW tonight.
-
Pleased for everyone who's still getting snow. You all deserve it! Wet as anything here now, but no worries - its been good.
-
Just arrived in st annes - slushville! Yuk, the thaw is here - wet, windy and melty. Hope some of you still get a few hours before the same fate beholds you!
Edit: I really do mean enjoy it. Soz if that sounded at all tight!
-
cant get over how heavy that snow was before. heaviest ive actually ever seen.
Ditto NWB. Loved it. Imagine if we had a nightfull of it. Great to just walk in it for a fewi mins on way to the station. Magic stuff.

Total blizzard. Heaviest snow u can remember for YEARS.
Ps at leyland station
-
Got delayed leaving. In leyland still - big flakes, sometimes blowing nearly horizontal blizzard-like & settling well! Awesome!
-
Its possible, what is the nature of the discrepancy?
Reports of snow but blue/green echoes shown
-
OK off into the Leyland Blizzard - back later on phone.

seriously heavy snow settling on the beach at New Brighton
Stephen could there be a discrepancy between what's coming down and what the n/w radar is showing?
-
Still belting down here, almost a white out
I'm not going with the radar then cos it has rain! I think its gonna go to snow everywhere at some point.
-
Currently getting a pasting now, roads and pavements covered!!! Temp 2.4
Hi S yea its awesome innit. Leaving for station any minute. Should be fun!
-
My wife just txd me to report heavy sleet in St Annes. Hope it changes with the intensity. Guess the meto got that one right. WHAT A SHAME this isn't a region wide snowfest with this intensity! Wish I lived away from the coast right now cos its turning to blizzard conditions in Leyland now and settling on many surfaces too.
-
Heaviest snow iv ever seen in my LIFE
Absolutley brilliant mate - so good to hear excited reports like that. We're in this together, even if not geographically. Trying to settle here now. Still Leyland, but will be on the train to Preston then St Annes in about an hour.

will we get anything in stockport?
More than likely Lesley, and within 30-40 mins I'd say.

Wow what a night. Just saw BBC news coverage of the M6 witht an MP talking about playing snowballs on the motorway near Wigan. So the NW finally exists does it BBC? Got relatives in Wigan and Horwich - wish we'd been there last night! Roll on a Greeny High in Feb now!
