    Update........now in middle of another heavy snow storm, coming down hard again, just as I was leaving for my 40mile journey to work !! ummmm, maybe I'll wait a while ! http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ - zoom into your area and watch where the snow is.. For those also traveling, drive safely and good luck.

    Morning All. Here In Cranleigh (just south of Guildford) we have a nice covering of about 1.5inches, Hubby has finally made it into work via Guildford to Esher and there is hardly any snow there, it appears to be isolated more to the south and east and we appear, here at home, to be on the border of the bad stuff, but hey I'm not complaining. 1.5" is enough to make me smile. Drive carefully everyone, and enjoy the snow :-)

    Hi All Have just been for a walk to a local beauty spot overlooking the south downs and have been watching 3 separate storms brewing over towards the south downs, some spectacular fork lightning was fast approaching so we decided standing on the top of an exposed hill not the brightest thing to be doing in an approaching storm !!!! Just made it home and the storms are now well and truely overhead ! Looks like an interesting evening ahead, Enjoy the storms everyone :-) Jayne

    Another storm just passed over here at Tadworth (nr Redhill, surrey) More torrential rain and sky really black ! Lightning and thunder aplenty :-) 2nd storm of the day.....bring it on !

    Hi, Also based near Redhill (Tadworth, 5 miles away) and have just had a storm pass over us. Torrential rain, lightning and VERY loud thunder for 15mins. it has now moved away:-(, but lets hope its not the last of the day

    Good evening all snow lovers :-) Just a quick report to say that at 4.30 we had a "wet" snow event near Sutton, I wasn't expecting it, so was a nice surprise. It only lasted for 15mins, but hey it was heavy SNOW Just hoping that there may be more (forever the optimist !) Raining now at home (South of Guildford) so fingers crossed it will change. All those travelling tonight in the snow, take care and don't forget to blow it this way......

    can someone please blow that snow down here to surrey ....just good old rain here :-( rest of week not looking very hopeful either, thinking of moving to Milton Keynes !

    Hi, not that far from woking (i'm just south of Guildford) and its raining hard here, no sign of ANY snow :-(...oh well.

    Amazed at how much difference a few miles can make, made it into work today to find 14inches of lying snow (in Walton-on-the-Hill KT20) left work at 4pm, and 3 miles down the road in Dorking...nothing !! Got home to Cranleigh(just south of Guildford), and can you believe it...not only has what little snow we did get, gone, but its RAINING !!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr roll on Thursday/Friday, fingers crossed that we might actually get something this time around

    Sitting here at work, between Sutton and Reigate and just had a super storm, Major lightning activity and overhead thunder, Torrential rain too, with some serious flooding on minor roads, had brief sunshine followed by yet another storm hot on heals of the last one, now slowly moving away. What fun B)

    Whey heyyyyy at last we have some snow Snowing very hard at the moment, laying nicely and a good covering so far, had hail storm to begin with but soon changed to snow, so excitied think i'm going to have to get up and go outside lol

    Here in Cranleigh Surrey, had a heavy hail shower just go over, also had lightning and a loud clap of thunder, grass and roofs nice and white though ! Think its the only "white-out" we're likely to get this winter, so going outside to make the most of it !! from a 42yr old big kid....... ohhhhhh how i wish we had some snow :-(

    Have had a few light snow flurries at midday, here in Tadworth ( nr Reigate Surrey) but it then turned quickly to drizzle (sob), but now turned back to snow, and starting to settle now Even settling on roads and pavements, and rooftops are now white !! yipppeeeeee Lets hope it lasts and we may even get sent home early from work and I can then go sledging !     Have had a few loud rumbles here in Cranleigh (south of Guildford) for past 30mins, one right above us, now moving off, but still plenty of lightning around

    Hi, Had a major storm here (just south of Guildford Surrey) at 3.30-4pm, lots of thunder and lightning, now moving slowly to our east. What a summer !

    another storm........2nd today, rumbling away to the south (towards Horsham, Sussex) lightening and thunder but still NO rain !!!!

    Woken at 3am by Lightening, few small rumbles, storm finally got going at 3.30am, massive amount of lightening, very litlte rain (maybe had a minute or two of heavy rain, then nothing) Power knocked out for a min or two, storm moved off to the north at approx 4.15, but still lots of flashes for another 30mins....a very sleepless night !

    Just had a brief snow shower here in Headley (Nr Reigate Surrey) not amounted to much..except excitement in the office !! big dark clouds looming to the east, there may be hope yet of a little more too come

    Just had a light snow shower here - 10 miles south of Guildford, how exciting let hope it lasts, about time we had some snow here this winter !

    Been snowing here (5 miles south of Guildford Surrey) now for couple of hours, light to start, bit heavier now, settling on cars/grass a little....lets hope it keeps up, our 1st snow of the winter
