That’s spot on. I believe areas around Croydon had close to 12 inches.
Yep and that is exactly where we were living at the time, with just the odd flurry forcast. This setup looks very similar to my untrained eye?

A streamer looks likely to develop late Monday GFS has consistently modelled this recently and ECM precipitation charts also have showed this too, and still are courtesy of ventusky. GFS has it initially affecting more eastern parts Kent and so on, through Tuesday morning it edges westwards to affect most of SE England snowfall could fall for many hours. Could dump quite a lot. GFS is clearly underestimating the intensity it will likely be heavy.
As I recall from 2009 no significant snow was forcast, a streamer appeared out of no where and dumped about 9inches of snow in that one evening on us on the south side of the Thames.

More of a thread watcher than a participator, due to lack of knowledge, but do we have the possibility of a Thames Streamer occurring? From memory in 2009 there wasn't much on the cards even a few hours before it began to snow in my neck of the woods, and we had 6-9inches of unforcast snow that night?

It looks like you will be in one of the prime spots for whatever snow we get tonight. I am just that little bit too far West for anything other than a few flakes, which I am determined to see!
I don' think I am going to need a shovel

We have light snow in Sevenoaks, for the last half an hour or so..

There are days that I really wish I lived back home in Biggin....at least i'd see more than a few flakes. ?
As a tribute to better years gone by, a photo of the Main Road passing Biggin Hill Airport many, many years ago. I was but a nipper, but I can still remember it.
PS...that's a standard bus stop sign.....
Well I am on the Downs above Sevenoaks not to far from Biggin, if its any solace for you, its dry as a bone here, and I have not bothered to locate my shovel

I'll chat to you on a higher sense of meteorology!!
Your obviously top knowledge!!!
Trouble is there are a lot of us thickies watching this thread trying our best to understand the terms used, and what they mean. I know you don't have too but sometimes an explanation for us idiots would really help

I Home Educate my kids so every day is a snow day if there's a chance of it, lol!!
Meto says sleet all day for Leatherhead but heavy snow all day for Epsom Downs - I live between the two so guess which way we'll be headed, lol! Or perhas Boxhill will be even better?!xx
We home educate as well, and live on the Downs above Sevenoaks, we don't even have pavements to get to schools. We may see some snow tomorrow I hear? The kids round here use the downs to sledge down if we get a mm of snow

Its not cold enough for us.
Did you get Snow today?
Sevenoaks a bit hit and miss a covering on the top of the downs, although driving towards Maidstone down the M20 a few hours ago there is an area of quite a decent covering of about an couple of inches (max), where it has remained snow all day??

Hello Mark
I trust you are well. You did us (Chelmsford City) a favour today by drawing with St Albans City. We managed to beat Gloucester away 2 nil today which puts us in 5th place just 2 points behind the leaders but we have a game in hand. It is all very close, and a better result than when you played us at Melbourne Park a few weeks back.
Am hour ago I had to go out in the car and the windows were covered in ice, although there was patchy cloud, which should keep the temperature up a bit if it persists.
Tomorrow my wife and I are driving up to Godmanchester to visit our son and then on to Stamford in Lincolnshire hoping we do not get stranded up there. It does look a bot dodgy for travelling and so we will have to play it by ear.
Kind regards
Dave
Hi Dave
Just gotta love the inserted football chat in here, although after getting spanked 4-1 by Orient toady I am not talking about the subject
As for the snow, here is Sevenoaks we are probably too far south to see anything, although I am near the top of the Downs, so maybe if I get chair and stand on it, I might get some sleet if I am lucky?

Weather Display and Cumulus have their own sets of templates. So, as soon as you have hosting, you can initiate the software to upload those web templates, and then you and everybody else can view them.
This is the standard web template that Cumulus offers: http://home2.btconnect.com/peterrandle/Weather/index.htmThanks, I am on it

all depends on who you are presenting the data for.
Thanks, and for you lot

I don't know Weatherlink, but I use Weather Display and you can set up a live Wunderground feed from there. That is free to view, but only selected data - see here https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=IWALESLL7&cm_ven=localwx_pwsdash.
There are also a couple of apps you can use on your phone to see your data in real time (3 second intervals, anyway).
Not sure if that helps?
I will checkout Wunderground, but think I will need some form of IP logger? I guess that will plug straight into my router??
-
I have a Davis Vantage Vue with data logger and Weather Link software, its not so much that I cannot get on,line with it, its live now on Weatherlink, but I think you have to sign in to see all the data? I wanted to make it live and free to view, and another problem I have is its only live when connected to the PC which is not always on.
Any help on going live with my data 24/7 without login needed would be appreciated, as I am clueless

Looks like that lightening around Cambridge is coming down to meet the storm from the South, London is in the middle..

Something is closing in on me from the South, looks all most constant activity coming up from the Sussex coast towards London.

That'll be what I just saw to my South-West: very impressive looking at it from a distance!
Probably, it was heard and seen in London, flash and bang simultaneous, but not one since?

Absolute huge bang over the downs here in Kent, it actually shook the windows.

Sevenoaks top temp was 32.4 currently 30.7 due to some cloud.

Here is Sevenoaks everything is white, its been snowing on and off for the last few hours, but has only amounted to about a quarter of an inch. Bits in the air still but the snow has stopped.
