We had a freezing rain event probably over five years ago. It rained on frozen ground in the morning school run time. Suddenly everyone was skating and struggling to stay up on their feet. Kids found it fun but it was very scary. Especially when a bus couldn’t stop at a junction and slid straight onto a main road. Fortunately nothing was coming. It really is deathly.
The only thing moving south today is my food.
garbage here in Chesterfield. Last night Snow forecast from 3am for most of today but nothing. How can they all get it wrong?
I love a good snowfall and as yet all I’ve seen is a bit of wet snow followed by rain. If that’s all we’re gonna get then bring on the mild dry weather anyday!
hopefully that lot crossing the Channel above Brugge looks good for the North of our region. Notts, Derby, S. Yorks etc.
if it stays on its current track though.
do the models pick up on convection possibilities at close range?
also i noticed that the radar on NW shows absolutely nothing over all UK and North Sea currently, will the radar also be able to pick up convection as it is forming?
