  1. It looks to me that it is heavier than the snow on the front and if we can get this into our area overnight and get a covering then we do stand a bit of a chance of the front staying as snow because the cold will moderate the warm sector to a certain extent. what do more experienced posters think

It's looking good for most of Kent, looks like the MO warnings for Kent are looking spot on, as you said hopefully it will aid the likelihood of snow via the front tomorrow. Looks like tonight could trump many accumulations via the front anyway! :)

  3. TEITS, latest NAE shows a fair old dumping getting going tomorrow evening lincs, east notts, leics, south east yorks. this area could change a little but i think lincs pretty certain to be difficult come wed am.

The 06Z NAE is trickling in now, I don't like the look of the snow/rain prediction at 24hours. :)http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/expertcharts?LANG=en&MENU=0000000000&CONT=ukuk&MODELL=nae&MODELLTYP=1&BASE=200912271800&VAR=prty&HH=24&ZOOM=0&ARCHIV=0&WMO=

  4. No offence

    ps where is 'Cardiff' whistling.gif

Is Arctic oscillation (AO) still predicted to be in very –ve terrorty.

I did ask in the previous thread.

I suppose we don't have data re AO and 1947,1963 etc

I'm looking at the wider trends, rather then all this 'will it snow in my back yard' or why is he/she interested in his/her local weather. Most of the 'Pros' on here publish world wide data

Here's a good website with historical data back to 1950 http://www.newx-forecasts.com/ao_2.html

Also you can get the info in tabular form for each month here http://www.cpc.noaa.gov/products/precip/CWlink/daily_ao_index/monthly.ao.index.b50.current.ascii.table
