I'll add my two penneth.
Wow what a run. Xmas coning early and the north pole shifting to Leeds
After the last couple of runs this is a belter. Memories of '63 indeed
I'm going out to celebrate
-
wow! i know im alone here but fi atm is splendid!
Yes I'm excited about FI in the GEFS Control as well
-
I'll go for 10 dead
-
Wouldn't want to see an inversion with those uppers!
The Day After Tomorrow beckons

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the GEFS Operational Control from the 00z or today's 06z. Both show the start of the next ice age from mid month onwards. If anything today's 06z is 'colder' than the 00z

Excellent try Paul but I fear you will be a voice crying in the wilderness. As a previous poster put it, it's part of the fun on NW during Winter.
I for one tend to go away during summer as I find it boring. I love the 20 or so pages per model run and love fantasising about FI charts. Imaginative use of smilies also helps :-)
Looking forward to the upcoming season and wish everybody well.

I'll go for -20 Deg C at Aviemore during late Jan
-
Great to see Michael again. Love his delivery and would also vote for a longer discussion. Can't wait for his views later in the year as we approach the colder season.
-
I'll go for a 7.7 Deg C
-
I'll punt 5.5 Deg C, 3 degress higher than my Feb guess!

Trying desperately hard to snow properly
Looking at the radar and the 48hr forecast really hoping for 2 - 4"
-
Really surprising hail to graupel to snow started about 20 mins ago. Rushed on to NW extra radar and saw we're likely to get a good blast from this
-
See my Sig!!!
-
Does anyone have the final results?
-
Although I agree that we didn't have the armaggedon that we were promised, it's been a long time that I've seen 6" lying snow. I'm just happy to see snow
-
Haven't you got to just love the 48hr forecast. It said a light flurry at 12.00 - 13.00 and sure enough that's what we got. Really looking forward to later today and tomorrow. I'm expecting about 4"
-
Just look at my sig. It may just come true this year

I'll try a coolish 2.5 Deg C - better chance than my dreadful 2.2 Deg C for Jan
-
3.0 to 3.4 inclusive of adjustments.
Damn, my 2.2 looks terrible now
-
Well it is taking a while insn't it?
However, I heard someone called John Hammond (not the forecaster John Hammond) on the Radio 4 PM programme last night who said that 2008 was still a "warm year" and it was about half a degree higher than average.
So they must have reached some conclusion and I expect the final December figure will come out in the next day or so - and will be in the region 3.6c to 3.8c - probably at the lower end of that range.
For example 3.6c for December gives an Annual CET of 9.96c - and this is 0.51c above the 1961-1990 CET, which Hadley use.
I'll leave any conspiracy theories alone (for the time being!)
MM
Yes, But interestingly they're quoting 71 - 00 for other stats
-
Is this a sign of global warming (washes mouth with carbolic soap) SATSIGS is late appearing this year
-
I'll give it a cool 2.2º C
