3 years then!
should give me time to finish my hydro dam intime for the flooding.

always winners and losers in farming, be it crops or livestock.Dont lamb till the 18th here so fingers crossed things should be much better by then.
-
been below for a while here and steady ice snow mix.
-
anyone else sick of this now?
-
I'm hoping we get some mild weather soon. Nothing enjoyable about seeing sheep and other live stock buried alive in snow, as seen on the news. Snow is fun, but not at the risk of life whether human or animal IMO
Dont start until the 18th here, fingers crossed.

Durham has had loads of snow this winter, has it not? I seem to remember Durham being mentioned many times throughout the season when it comes to snowfall. Let those further south have a shot.
you can have the lot, even next years as far as i'm concerned.

bits of light dandruff blowing in a bitter cold wind.

Probably working, doing what he gets paid for weather wise, rather than the superb voluntary posting he does on here.
Your post was made 15 minutes after his live BBC Points West forecast so I expect he was on a break or beginning to work on
the late evening forecast.
I cant believe Ian would be stopping for a break with the current potential.

I got to say, despite the cold set ups during this March, I can't recall much in the way of a meaningful covering of snow on the ground this month, its just been dry whenever the cold comes and for this region, this trend looks like continuing unfortunately. Even further afield, the outlook looks dry for our region with a stable easterly flow which may turn a little more convective as we go through the week but none of this is a gurantee yet.
The persistent cold this month is impressive but in terms of snowfall for our region, its hardly living in the memory really, sort of like the winter really with most events coming from frontal stuff rather convective snowfall.
had lying snow since January up here, that goes into something memorable in my book.

So itv local and met say snow tomorrow and saturday but bbc national says none at all here. Anyone got a clue
it's coming but nothing to be afraid of lol.
windchill is the one i'm looking at,still got enough snow on the ground as it is.

P.S. apols mods as this strayed off model discussion, albeit hopefully worth the clarification re availability of UKMO model products etc.... ! Ta.
Great insight thanks Ian.

Fergieweather may have said to ignore the 18z NAE but the NI local weather forcast looked a carbon copy of it and the phrase " a hazardous day" was used for Friday for NI, and it was all snow.
Someone would have cleared that forecast for NI.
Paddy Maginty?

take my hat off to Ian,just watched my ITV forecast which lasted 18 seconds and she didn't go beyond lunchtime tomorrow lol.
mind she's well fit.
-
So 18z raw NAE is a good shift south with snow likely anywhere north of m4. Disappointing for the north east and Scotland as the front never makes it
it would be if you believed that chart i agree.

518-520 thicknesses just getting onto EA is remarkable for late march.

Steve why do you make your print small at times?
it's very difficult for us visually impaired to read.
-
Why would you do that? I thought you lived in Consett.
the most scenic train route in the country is Stocksfield to Carlisle dont ya know.never done it with the snow down so Friday looks the best chance yet.
-
-2c and DP the same here.
-
Do Northern Rail have to provide sustenance for travellers on a day return lol.
-
Friday will be epic, gunna get the train over to Carlisle for the day, hope they cancel them by mid afternoon and book into some nice digs for the night.
-
