Love to see the snow blowing up my street, rather than down it, reminds me this is coming from a very cold direction!
Snap lol.
temps dropping like a stone now.
-
just wont go below 0c 1.1c and steady as a rock for now.
-
everything holding steady as before here.
-
iv'e attempted it before on a half arsed basis and the results were weird.the birds indoors went through a lot more food than the birds outside who were free to roam in bitter temps.
that in itself goes against the rule of livestock feeding.
-
Will definate be a windchill for certain, quite a sharp one for sure but why are you interested what it feels like in the wind for? Out of interest?
reason being I've locked 18 laying hens indoors with food and water.the other 18 are free to roam as of yesterday, they have the same amount of food and water as the incarcerated birds.
I'm monitoring food consumption and egg laying including egg size for the next 21 days.
basically a flock of 36 split in half and results to be monitored.

everything holding steady here also.
Looked on the BBC forecast online just now, it seems to downgraded the convective snow somewhat for Sunday and there is no snow graphics over the region for Monday! It does look likely Monday will be less convective but I still think there be snow showers first thing.
I also still believe its a little bit hard to believe we won't see snow settling with upper air temps of below -10 during Sunday day time, ok if the showers are NOT frequent and we get long spells of dry/sunny weather then snow accumulations will be minimal but in shaded areas, then I think snow will accumulated.
It would seem Sunday night is when things could get a little juicier convection wise so won't be surprised if there is a covering by Monday morning.
Tuesday/Wednesday is still uncertain, UKMO/ECM seems more favorable for fairly good convection via a Northerly which will topple but these can still deliver for sure.
not concerned about snow amounts, the windchill is the one feature i'm interested in.

no major drops here just yet.

I use weather display as my WS isn't compatible with Cumulus.
Is it easy to get 2 back to one PC and have them display separately?
Re. radar... is there such a thing as an Inverness streamer??
sorry 2 stations in different locations feeding back to a computer each.
-
careful what you say Betty 1964 has just logged in lol.
-
yip both wireless back to the pc.Maplins had a coded special offer on a few year back.
never had a pick of bother with either and original batteries still in both outdoor transmitters.
cumulus by far the better software.
-
You can get an all singing all dancing one for 30 quid, and for 100 quid a pretty decent one with wireless, etc. and software.
i know ive' got 2 in different locations.
-
kind of defeats the object Gav don't you think?
even a thermometer and a barometer out the poundshop would be a start for ya own location.
all temps and DP holding steady here.
-

-
