  11. The first day of meteorological winter was marked by an unusually late first air frost of the season (in recent years it has nearly always been in the second week of November). Freezing fog overnight followed by a cold grey day with fog barely lifting. Maximum 5.6, minimum -0.2. Wind light NE.

On the whole an excellent summer, not quite a dream as we could have done with just a little more rain in July to stop everything turning into a dust bowl and reduce the fire risk (the perfect summer involves frequent barbecues, but we were concerned that the nearby vegetation was too dry). I think I slightly preferred the more balanced summer of 2013. Anyway, a lot better than the mediocre summer of 2021 here in the south.
