Am I correct in saying the snow/weather systems have come from a different direction during this cold snap though, rather than your regular Easterley/North Easterly, so areas will be affected differently to the'norm'?? I'm specifically thinking about those who say they've not seen much snow from this?
Down here in South Cheshire it was snowing fairly moderately but we've just had ice pellets which seem to have turned to rain. All stopped but the next pulse on its way. Road is treacherous as it rained first, froze, and then snowed on top of it. No sign of a melt yet though.
Looking at the raintoday radar, the ppn has been passing over us, but nothing falling, so good luck to all those further North - enjoy it! On the plus-side, can't believe we've had lying snow for a week, almost unheard of here!
Strange day today, even though we have quite a thaw going on, we've had plenty of snow flurries all day. We're usually on the wrong side of marginal here!
A very pretty picture in our neck of the woods, but the snow has now stopped. MetO said heavy snow until about 5pm, and then more tonight but I can't see where it's coming from on the radar as the precip has passed us now.
