  1. Not as poor as the MO app.Apparently nothing falling from the sky for 4 days apparently. Now I know these apps are notoriously rubbish but how can the MO even put their name to something so bad.
  2. I remember it well TEITS.heaviest snow I've ever seen. Will be interesting to see how well the HRes models do in picking up on the convective showers an possible streamers this time round. All eyes will be on the radar from Saturday PM for me.
  3. You're right,we in the NE normally profit from a strong easterly with plenty of snow showers however,at the moment, there isnt a huge amount being modelled.Im hoping the HRes models will start to pick up on this nearer the time.
  4. I think that the media organisations you mention will always hold back with their warnings until it is nailed on.Apps are also notoriously slower updating and imo a waste of time. The MO will be preparing their early warnings but we are talking late Saturday, into Sunday before the majority of the country start to feel the effects of the easterly and it associated risks as highlighted by all the major models now. I know your location well and I'd imagine once the cold comes later this weekend you shouldn't be concerned about a lack of snow showers coming along. Enjoy!
  5. I agree with those airing their frustrations about this winter. I live 3 miles from the coast and have barely seen any snow on the ground yet Ive only had to travel a further 2 miles inland to see plenty of snow on the ground on a more than a few occasions.Higher than average SSTs to blame I think. I'm hopeful that the lower 850s temps forecast for Saturday onwards will help deliver to all of us up here.
  6. With that set up I would think snow for most from Yorkshire northwards al all levels.
  7. The GFS 18z has 36 hours of snow for the far north of England and southern and central Scotland from Tuesday as the front stalls and then eventually peters out.
  8. That is as good a chart as you could wish for if cold is your thing, just need to get it closer to a more reliable time frame,t72
  9. I wasnt planning on it lol but i agree, everything is relative and I do look forward to seeing a good old North Sea snowmaker spring up in the models next week
  10. As weve all ready found out to our cost living just 3 miles from the NE coast of England...barely a flake so far this winter!
  11. You are right....Sometimes some charts just dont look "right" and the ECM after 144z certainly falls into that category imo...we may be proven wrong though!
  12. Typical...snowing back home home in Tyneside and I've driven down to Coventry, where the temperature has just dropped 5 degrees following a squall going through....sleet falling now. Hoping for at least a covering by the time I get back at 6am
  13. A lot is being made of the possible snow in the south on Weds night into Thursday but my eyes couldn't help but notice the larger area of precipitation moving in off the North Sea and covering a large swathe of Northern England shown here on the ICON 18z.
  14. Still rollng out for me on Meteociel, where can I view it earlier?
  15. Just for fun but P15 post 300z on the latest GFS run is one bitterly cold northerly, imagine the wind chill in that!
  16. Wow...what a clap of thunder that was here in Jarrow ?☇☈?.Now heavy snow again
  17. Showers certainly look like they are pepping up again
  18. Yep,thats' what I've got my eye on,hoping for a direct hit but I think it might go south of me in T&W
  19. Yep,thats' what I've got my eye on,hoping for a direct hit but I think it might go south of me in T&W
  20. Infrared image of the North Sea showing plenty of big showers on there way
  21. These showers off shore are really starting to grow in size and intensity.Due to hit Tyneside during rush hour
