    Lol,Thats what i did about 16 years ago Blizzard!!We haven't done too bad up here this winter but seem to have missed the really big snowfalls,too close to the sea i think!

    Hi Teits and fellow Peterborians, It's nice to see Peterborough getting some snow again,I know when i used to live there everybody else seemed to get snow while we missed out.My Mum used to blame the brick pits or the sugar beet factory for the lack of snow!!! Any way enjoy it while it lasts. Andy

    Here in Jarrow we have a total whiteout at the moment.Snow started to fall at 11.30pm and it has steadily increased in intensity.The wind is really strong and gusty too.Looks like a very good night to come!!

    Morning all,had a fresh dusting overnight here in Jarrow,but it is coming down quite heavily as i type.

    Yep,that was a short and sharp hail shower.Some hail was a good 1cm in diameter.More to come but i agree,its about time we got some proper snow showers

    Looking at the sat image again,i reckon the convective clouds out in the north sea are about 2-3 hours away from making landfall.

    Just had a look at the visible sat image on the met office website.Look at the different cloud structure over Scotland,some lovely high topped clouds up there.Trouble is they are only very slowly moving down to our area, while we are stuck with this grey sheet of cloud.

    Well,the latest shower brought 10 mins of moderate hail leaving everywhere white again.It has eased off now,just very light snow now.temp is 1.2c on my very amateur weather station outside.

    Woke up this morning to a fine covering of hail.Looking out to the east there is a big shower on the horizon,it will be interesting to see what it delivers here in Jarrow.The radar shows it to be quite heavy,lets hope so!

    WOW!!! Just had a 15 minute whiteout here in Jarrow,thundersnow as well.It doesn't get much better than this!! Andy. PS Next shower rapidly approaching,this is going to be a great day!

    EVENING ALL, WE HAVE HAD HEAVY SNOW AND HAIL SHOWERS ON AND OFF ALL DAY TODAY.JUST HAD ANOTHER HEAVY ONE WHICH HAS SETTLED ON ALL SURFACES AND THE SKY IS THAT LOVELY ORANGE COLOUR SUGGESTING THERE IS MORE TO COME.IF ONLY THIS WAS JAN OR FEB AS WE WOULD HAVE A REALLY GOOG COVERING BY NOW. ANDY
